Today's Thrifty Treasures

It's time to show your thriftstore/yardsale treasures. Be sure to visit Rhoda at Southern Hospitality for more Today's Thrifty Treasures participants. I'm always amazed at all the wonderful things people find at yardsales!

I want you all to know that I actually went to 4 yardsales Saturday (and I never go cause I don't like to get up early on Saturdays) and didn't find a thing! Although I have to confess I didn't go until after 10 a.m and maybe that's already too late! I did find a few things at Goodwill. I visited a new Goodwill in another town (Austell for all you ATL ladies) Friday and it was very nice and I got this.

I painted it black and put it in my foyer. I've been looking for a really large mirror for this wall and haven't found anything I like or what I like is just too expensive. So I think I'm just going to fill that wall with all different thriftstore mirrors and see how I like it. So this is the first of many!

I finally finished painting my potting bench from last week. Actually I just dry brushed some hydrangea blue paint on as I wanted an old worn look for it.

This was the before! Go here if you didn't see last weeks post about it.

Now it's in my veggie garden and I have a place to wash my vegetables before bringing them in and a spot to pot up things! Plus I can capture the water and re-use it in the garden! I love it!

Every potting bench needs a chandelier don't you think? This pretty fork chandy was a gift last year from my dear friend Linda ( who is a very talented mosaic artist and just generally very creative)! She has a few left in her etsy store. Check here Blue Gate Etsy Store if you'd like one too. They'd be great in a china cabinet or birdcage!

Thanks so much for stopping by and have a wonderful week everyone! I'll be back on Tuesday with something pretty in my garden.

OOO, these are just great. I especially LOVE that potting bench. I want one really bad and am thinking of batting my eyes at Mr. Sweet and see if he will build one for me.
You really did great!!

Love your "new" potting bench even more now that you've painted it!
It definitely deserves its own little chandelier! Perfect!

I just recently painted the frames on two small mirrors black and thinking about doing another one. White (even tho I love the look) just does not work in certain areas in my home, because of so many wood finishes. Your potting table turned out great.

You are just so creative Manuela. You have a lot of get up and go spirit about you. You are always doing something. Me, I laze around at times and then I think about it and decide that when I laze around too much, it's time wasted. Sometimes though, I just don't want to do a thing. Hey Manuela amiga, have a great week. Take care.

The mirror is adorable. Ashley, my daughter, did a cute post on painted mirrors. I love the potting bench and a chandelier is a must, especially made with old silver forks!

I saw that mirror the last time I was at Goodwill in Austell. I have one that looks something like it. So when I saw your mirror I thought " that looks like my mirror and passed it by.
My mirror used to be in my powder room in my other house but now it's in my older's daughter room painted white and turned horizontal.

In my town, the serious yard sale shoppers are out early and get the good stuff. So when I yard sale, I get there early or I don't go. \

you do the best makeovers with paint!

Hi Manuela, I love your mirror.

I don't like yard sales either because I HATE getting up early. When we have given garage sales...I truly cannot believe people arrive so early for them!!

Hi Manuela
I love the bench!! You really transformed it. I am looking for a color blue just like that. What color and brand is it?
I have a couple of thrift shop mirrors on my dining room wall and it makes a nice grouping. I don't comment every time I visit either but I try to comment at least once a week.
Hope you have a good one!
