Thrifty Finds & Red White & Blue Chicken

Hi everyone! Hope you all had lovely weekends. Ours was busy but fun!I wanted to show you a few recent thriftstore items.
First up is this fabulous little side table!
Magazinetable
I’m thinking of using it as my nightstand. Don’t you think it would be perfect for holding all my nighttime reading material?
back
I think I may remove one of those shelves so I have a place for books but the rest will be great for organizing my magazines! Yellow was 1/2 price that day so I got it for $6.66!
cart
I was so excited when I saw this at Goodwill! Sometimes I need just a bit more surface space in my kitchen and I don’t really have room for an island (although I really wish I did).
knifeblock
I think this will really come in handy. It has wheels so I can roll it out of the way when not in use.
cuttingboard
Look it has a pullout cutting board!
price
I think it will look cute painted black or maybe red. This should be a quick paint project. I can just spray paint it all except the top and cutting board which I’ll leave as is. I had to pay full price for it but I think even at $16 it was a good deal!
chicken
Then there’s this chicken which I got at Goodwill. In theory I guess it could be a cute idea to do a red white and blue chicken. But you’d have to totally go for it and do more than just the tail!
whitechicken
Anyway, I spray painted it a glossy white (I already have a big red chicken) and I thought white would be nice for the summer (but maybe I’ll paint it yellow). Paint really is my BFF!!
redchicken
Here's a little red chicken on top of a vintage stacking block.
flowers
Well that's it for today. Thanks for spending some time with me! I hope you all have a wonderful week!

The shelf you're going to use for magazines is a sheet music stand. My grandmother has one somewhere...wonder where??? Terrific finds all!

When will my room be ready? I'm coming to live with you. Or you could fit me in the back of your 1963 Chevy station wagon.

Oh wow, love the side table. It will make a wonderful side table. It is so unique. I've never noticed our GW having item marked in color with a percentage off. I will have to check.

Manuela what GREAT finds!!! The island will be PERFECT! And how cool it has a knife rack, cutting board and wine storage!!! My goodness, $16 is a STEAL! And the other piece will be perfect for magazines! I have been looking for something similiar for records, even though you'd have to look at them sideways!
And who can resist a rooster? NOT me! :)

Great finds, Manuela! Love that table, but I covet that rolling "island". I'm with you, wish I had one but don't have quite enough room. Something like this would work though. Love the chicken all white. It looks very fresh.

I have one of those carts in my kitchen for the same reason, I needed some extra counter space and I didn't have room for an island. I tried putting a small table and chairs in there, but I liked the cart better. It's just big enough, but doesn't get in the way. Mine has drawers in it that I keep napkins in. I paid a lot more for mine, new. Love your other finds too. Linda

I just wish you could see the pitiful GW we have here. I think the best stuff is what I have actually donated. Hrmph.

I love your finds! I'm glad you did the rooster white. I think it looks great in contrast with the red one.

And those tables? At those prices? Awesome.

What magnificent thrifty finds, Manuela!!! Your GW is the absolute best, from what you show us. Ours thinks it is a regular retail store and the prices are way up there. But I never see merchandise like what you always seem to find. I need a road trip down to your area! LOL

Great finds. What a great idea for storing night time reads. And such a neat little island. I think you did good by painting the rooster all white.

You've done very well thrifting! I am inspired to get out and do some looking too - but not until after my long list of current painting projects is complete - and that would mean some sunny days! So much rain - great for the garden, but terrible for my to-do list!

Wow, that kitchen table is a BARGAIN! I'm jealous. I've been looking for one of those for ages.

Great finds as usual Manuela :) I love the side table, actually it loks like an antique music cabinet to me minus the door. The shelves used to keep the sheet music.

Awesome treasures :) Thanks for sharing and have a blessed day!

I think the map shelf will be awesome for a nightstand. Can't wait to see what you will do with it.

LOVE LOVE LOVE the new blog design. I have to ask, did you do it yourself?

I love the chicken painted white but I can tell it will be totally adorable in yellow, too!

And last, but not least... the island is perfect. I can't wait to see it painted.

Colleen - the AmAzINg Mrs. B said...

Oh my heck! Those were not good deals ...they were STEALS! Yay for you..love them both. And the chicken? Too perfect all white (so glad you didn't say you were the one painting it the red, white and blue!!)

I love that mini butcher blog island...dang..that was a good deal..we don't find deals like that over here. I saw a glass cake plate with a high dome and it was that price..I hemmed an hawed if I should get it..but I said no...

Amen about the thrift stores with the first comment. We never have anything good around here at ours. You got some great buys. Love the chicken white. What on earth was somebody thinking with a red, white and blue tail, I'm wondering?
