Project Procrastinator -The After Party!

Today is the day we're suppose to show our "after" projects for Melissa's Procrastinator Party! Well I have a good excuse for not doing my project - we've only had 2 consecutive days with no rain so I couldn't paint the checkerboard pattern on my deck. But.....I have a number of pending projects so I picked another.

Some of you may remember when I painted my buffet yellow I said that I'd like to mosaic the top...Well I did it!

I used what I had. The only thing I purchased was a container of white grout. I had mosaic pieces because a few years ago I was going to do a birdbath and I had started a project covering concrete edgers (which I soon tired of)!

Here's my project!

It would have been better to draw it out in the beginning especially in doing the circles. The center one is a big wonky because I just started gluing down pieces without having any sort of guide.

It's not perfect. I learned a lot while doing it. I didn't plan out what I was going to do ahead of time. I knew I was going to do a big focal point in the center but the rest I just made up as I went along.

I think it came out pretty good for never having done this before! Sometimes you just have to go for it!

Very pretty! Congratulations on your project.

I think it is adorable! I am very impressed. The perfect things in life are often forgot but the things that have character are often remembered! Your piece has character!

It looks so pretty. I think you should pat yourself on the back! And the wonkiness of the 1st circle is adorable. If it bothers you, put a large bowl there!

You've inspired me -- especially with the concrete garden stones. I want to do some stepping stones, especially one of my beautiful Colombian student who will be going home in another month.

What a beautiful table! I like the garden stones too. :o)

Thanks for some great inspiration!

Oh wow! Manuela, that is gorgeous and, of course, I love the yellow! I think a little wonky is altogether more charming.

It turned out wonderful Manuela! And like I tell my husband, mosaic is an art form...it is not suppose to be perfect! A little wonky makes it real!

Penny

I remember the concrete garden edgers!

I really like how the mosaic top looks on your buffet.

Great project! Oh, and the M tile is the perfect touch!

Beautifully done!! Love the color combination you chose for the tiles.

What a great fun project you completed. I wouldn't worry about "wonky." It is just sooooo cooool.....Color & design motif are pretty. Great inspiration piece for all of us to attempt.

Very pretty! I have a mosaic table project, too, that is still in the very before stage...and probably will be for awhile yet! You've given me encouragement and inspiration, though! Blessings!

Simply GORGEOUS! I love it!!

This looks great. I've always wanted to try a mosaic. I keep collecting broken china. Now you've inspired me. The "wonky" is good. When I do something that's not quite perfect, I tell people I did it on purpose so you could tell it was hand made.

Manuela, I think you did a pretty good job. I can't believe it was your first time doing that. Even Penny says it looks great. Congrats on accomplishing this, but then again, YOU pretty much can do anything you want. Have a great Thursday. Take care.

Oh, I just love it! This has been one of my project not getting done a long time! Congrat to you, you have it done and it is wonderful! I love how the buffet is made! I do not think I have ever seen it? Now doing it your self, what makes it so special. Perfect? An artist work is never, well usually never perfect. For handmade items usually say no two alike! I think its totally Perfect! I love the flower bed ones too! You should do more. lol Now! Hand over the Recipe! For My Old Family Secret Recipe! How I would love to make a real one, but My daughter and my friend would think it was from the grocery! lol

I LOVE IT! It is adorable! I love that look. My mom and I did a mosaic backsplash using old plates in her guest house and it was really cute. I wish I would have taken pictures of it. She has since moved. But I love it on a dresser. What a great idea!
