SomeThrifty Finds
Hi everyone! I haven’t shared any of my thriftstore finds in a while so I thought I’d show you a few. I think I mentioned in my “Envelope System” post that I was giving myself a set budget for thrifting. I’ve found myself re-evaluating my purchases and putting things back before I check out. That's a good thing!
Isn’t this a cute checkered serving fork. Whenever I see a checkered pattern in my colors I buy it because I know it’ll work in my house.
It was only 55 cents! I think I’m starting a “random serving pieces” collections LOL!
This, I’m sure, was someone's fabulous Christmas decoration. It’s made out of grapevine and twigs - $1.91. I’m going to either put it in a big pot this summer with some morning glory seeds and let the vines grow up it, or spray paint it a fun color and put it in one of my flower borders as a fun accent.
$2.92 for a couple of yards of great fabric. I buy fabric and trim when I see it at the thriftstore as long as it’s in colors that I use.
This painting was $8.+change. I had it in my living room for a while and then realize that the black distressed frame was exactly like the distressing on my little china cabinet.
So I moved it.
I was going to put all my white pitchers on top but a few of them are being used around the house to hold bouquets (real and fake). So instead the top is now “things that pour”.
These are my very best find so far this year!
4 blue toile and gingham seat cushions for $9.99! They don’t look homemade so if they are that person was a very good seamstress. They have a zippered closure in the back and I love the contrast of the blue gingham.
These I’m not planning on keeping. I’m having a barn sale late spring/early summer that I’ll let you Atlanta ladies know about so you can come. I’ll be selling these and lots of other great things.
I also found another artichoke to add to my new artichoke collection!
Thank you for your visit today. I hope each of you has a wonderful week!

The checkered serving fork is absolutely fabulous! I love it. I understand the re-evaluating purchases as it has become a habit for us as well. It is amazing how often we buy something just because it is a good deal. I have accumalated more "stuff" that way and as you know, we don't want stuff in our homes!
You do have a knack for finding the cutest things.
Have a great week!
Jennifer
You have a great goodwill. I'm going shopping with you next time, lol. I love the serving fork how cute!
What great finds! Love the fork! I really need to find a great thrift store near me. Haven't been in years! And too bad I don't live in Atlanta anymore, I'd be first in line! Enjoy your day!
Great finds! I really like the unique, checked serving piece. You'll have fun using it!
What great finds! I haven't been to Goodwill in a while. I've been too busy buying paint for all of my painting projects. I really need to finish up my bedroom and bathroom decorating.
I love all that black and white check... especially when you are mixing it was othe colors and all those patterns... that are so similar to mine. I've been in a funk lately wondering what I will do about window treatments for my newly remodeled kitchen and breakfast nook. This helps me figure out a possible style and colors. Thank you so much!!
Have a great day.

P.S. That serving fork is to die for. You did good, Sister!
You found some great stuff. Looking forward to your barn sale.
I love the checked serving fork. That is cool! You are so good at shopping!
Manuela--you have some wonderful thrifty finds. That serving fork is wonderful. But I LOVE your small china cabinet with the white "things that pour"! Where exactly are you in GA? My daughter is in Hall county and if you're close I might have to pay her a visit and come to your barn sale.
Oh, that checkered serving fork makes my heart go pitter patter!!!
I love all of your great finds, you are so clever! I also checked out your sweater pillow tutorial, and love it, can't wait to find some old sweaters to get started! thanks for sharing! sue
Wonderful finds!! You have a great eye! So fun to find goodies someone else can't use and do something creative with it! Makes a house a home!
As always you find some great things! I'd love to come to one of your yard sales. I haven't been to Goodwill in a while - trying to cut back on spending too.
What great finds!
Just seeing the words Thrift makes me smile. Fun stuff!
Ok, WOW you found some really great items. I want the checkered serving pieces. I’m surprised someone didn’t fight you for them. :o) I put myself on a little thrift store fast. I’ve gone a week so far without pulling into one. I’m hoping I can go 3 more weeks. I just keep buying things I want to fix-up and my fix-up pile is pretty large so I’m thinking I need to actually start fixing up thus the thrift store diet. Anyhoo you found some beautiful things. Thanks for sharing!

Manuela, was that fork not tailor made for you????? All your finds are just wonderful finds. I love your collection of pitchers--to die for.
XO,
Lallee
PS I think all your toile has rubbed off on me ;-)
Girl you are good!! Love your thrifting. I came home with goodies from Goodwill last week and was giddy with excitement. Can't wait for our weather to allow me to spray paint.
Oh, please let me know about the barn sale too! My parents are in Atlanta and we'll be traveling back and forth lots this year as my son will be starting college in Rome in the fall.
I adore your checkered serving pieces, and the toile seatcovers...although I wish they were black or red instead of blue. If I'm ever in Atlanta i am SO going thrifting with you! :)
Oh I love looking at other peoples thrift store finds. The checkered serving fork is great! I've seen those grapevine thingys before and never thought of using them in a garden, how smart. Thanks for sharing today.
I love to see your thrifting finds, Manuela!
Love the fork - so unique and fits perfectly in your home!
Have a great week!
LOVE these! The pitchers I love! the ribbon just sets it off and the picture is fabulous up there!
LOVE the artichokes!
Have a great week!
Lou Cinda :)
I love the way you group your items like "things that pour" because I do the same thing. You must have the best Goodwill. We have 3 Goodwills and a Salvation Army that I shop at often but I rarely found such great stuff like you do. I get most of my goodies at garage sales. I wish I could come to yours!
Oh dear, I wonder if I am the only gal who never goes thrift shopping or to garage sales...?
.♥.♥.♥.
Wonderful finds, Manuela!
I'd love to shop your barn sale, but alas, as much as J likes a road trip, Atlanta might be a tad far.:-)
Manuela, I am loving that checkerboard fork. How unique is that? Never seen one before. That looks like a future special artsy project. I adore you pillows. I can just see you doing a little happy dance! They look great! You obviously had fun this past weekend... and before just thrifting!! Thanks for sharing the treasures.
I love, love, love your collection of white and the checked fork is just gorgeous. I have a couple of artichokes too, I just love them. Yours is just wonderful. Hugs, Marty
Great find on those checkered serving pieces and those seat cushions are great! Wish I lived in your neck of the woods!
Wow, great finds! I swear, the thrifting in the south is much better than around here. I need to venture farther from home!
Nancy
I am always so jealous of what you find at your Goodwill! Love the picture and the white pitchers on top of the cabinet. What a great deal on those cushions!
What great finds. I love the little fork and the chair cushions.
And that's a great idea, to budget your thrifting money.
That fork is perfect with your decor. You have a great eye for seeing what will work and how to use things. I love the blue and white. I bought some blue and white at a fabric sale and when I opened it up it turned out to be Christmas fabric with mangers scenes on it, but I'm thinking I may still be able to use it that you wouldn't really notice unless you looked very close. I love the colors.
You did get some nice deals Love the fork - unusual.
Now that serving fork is delightful! What a great piece for your home in particular. Everything is wonderful, acutally. It's always fun to see what you find.
WOW..you have some great finds...love the chair pads and the utensils, the fabric, your white pitchers are so pretty..you just have a good eye for picking up treasures! Have a good day and come say hi :D
Gorgeous finds Manuela!
The artichokes are really neat displayed as a collection. I want a few more as well. :)
You find the best stuff! And know exactly what to do with it in your house. You should teach classes in thriftiness and decorating!
Brenda
oh my goodness....how I always love your posts! Full of stuff I love! :) I LOVE those toile seat cushions you found!!! What a GREAT deal!!! :)
Just making sure...did you get my email with my address in it? :)
you find the best things at your Goddwill. . Lucky that we do not live in same area. We would of had a fork fight. lol. mishelle
Wonderful finds! Can't wait until garage sale season.
Great stuff again! Your finds amaze me. I've given up on Goodwill.
Can I tell you that each time I click on your blog I know I'm going to see something fabulous I want to copy? : )
All I can say is... I'm glad I don't live in Georgia! Otherwise I'd be sorely tempted to come over to your sale and snag those adorable seat covers, and as you know I am not buying anything this year;)
I too love toile, but I am afraid to mix colors. How do you do it effectively, or do you keep only one color toile in a room at a time?
You found some pretty great stuff. My favorite is the artichoke though.
Hi Manuela! Great finds! I'm like you...I have to limit myself on the thrifting finds! We have the most amazing Salvation Army where my parents live. I have found the greatest treasures! This calls for limiting myself big smile...because I could go there all the time and find great things. I love your pitchers. I really like the little cabinet with the chicken wire on it. That is great with the picture above it! Every room should have a little black in it I have always heard....yours is perfect.
Too bad Atlanta is so far away...I'd be there in a heartbeat! Big smile.
Have a lovely day my friend!
Debbie
You have the best taste Manuela. I love all your finds :)
I can NOT believe I missed the book giveaway... ugh.
Have a great week :)
xoxo,
rue
Wonderful treasures! I wanna go shopping with you!
Manuela, you are the most successful thrifty shopper ever! I do like your envelope system - it's a great idea! Oh, the checked fork - love it!Linda
What wonderful finds! I love that serving fork! So pretty!
Love the toile!
XOXO
Jen
I'm not sure what's more impressive, all the wonderful items you find at your Goodwill or the prices! The checkered fork is so neat.
I'm usually just a reader of your blog (although I've posted a couple of times) but I had share something I spotted today that made me think of you. I was browsing at HomeSense which I guess is the Canadian version of Home Goods. In the clearance was a butterfly shape covered in the black and white harlequin pattern. It was fairly large and thick, meant to hang. I immediately thought of your love for that pattern and gardening so the theme fit.
Always enjoy visiting you blog,
Shirlee
You find the best things in your Goodwill! I think I need to venture out of Canton and look at Goodwill in other areas. Thanks for sharing your finds! It gives me hope for finding a great treasure one day.
Your finds are fabulous ~ I love your white pitchers and articokes!
Jo
I may have to travel all the way to Atlanta when you have your barn sale. I just know there will be some fabulous treasures to be purchased! That serving fork is wonderful! I can't believe the price on that, or the price on those toile cushions. I think I am going to come to Atlanta, and you can tell me where to shop (besides at your barn sale!) laurie
I may have to come to Atlanta for your barn sale! Those cushions are so cute...
I love your things that pour arrangement and your artichoke collection - I hope you don't mind if I copy that - smile!
Great finds, but the fork is just great. Isn't it funny that something so little could be so great?
Beautiful finds!! I love your "things that pour" collection!!
beautiful as always :) I'm going to have to add "thrifting" to our Set To Go Budget for March...I just love it so much that if I go Cold Turkey I may have to be sedated :))
thanks for droppin' in...
That fork is my favorite!
Great finds, Manuela! I'd like to come shop at your Goodwill store.
Thank you for sharing the fact that you've made a set budget for thrifting. Sometimes it's so easy for me to get caught up in the thrill of thrifting that I don't stop to evaluate whether the item is REALLY something I'd use. Having a set budget would help me to evaluate more clearly.
Have a great day!
Great finds! I love your white pitchers, and the toile seat covers, fabulous!
Manuela, you always brighten my day when I visit your blog!
Much love,
Cheryl
Love, love, love that serving fork! I have a small collection of white ironstone pitchers, some from Earls' grandparents and those mean the most. I always have them out somewhere. I too, have been more careful with my thriufty finds. I find myself reboxing them to take back to Salvation Army and realize that a lot of $$ can slip through my fingers for things I don't need or really love. Thiftiness can be as hard on your wallet as buying full price if you arent careful!
Gorgeous treasures ALL my kind friend! I am especially loving those blue and white toile seat cushions!! You must have a sixth sense when bargain hunting!!
Love,
Tracey

Score! You found some truly fabulous finds. My favorites are definitely the ivory pitchers...I can never have too many of those!
Some more great finds. You have such a good eye for finding things. That little fork is perfect for your house.
Blessings,
Marcia
Wonderful finds, Manuela. I adore the white pitchers. Love them.
Barb
What a great score on the toile! Love the fork too.
You find such good things at your thrift shops!
