Lace, Toile, Creamy Whites & A Touch of Silver!

Top1
Thank you so much for all your kind comments about my little corner bed makeover! I’m still working outside but we had a bit of a rainy afternoon on Tuesday so I came inside and changed out the vignette on the dresser in my dining room (should have cleaned the house instead but just didn’t feel like it).

Top2
It’s a change for me. I’m usually into color – red, apple green, black, yellow – but I wanted to try something new.

Vignette1

I put this together from things I had in the house. I really, really love it!

ruffle
I made a ruffle for my decoupaged candles with two coffee filters. I cut the ends off to make them shorter and stuffed them into the candle holder at the same time as the candle.

hydrangea

This apothecary jar has some dried Hydrangeas I saved from cleaning up the yard this week. I usually leave them on the bushes for some winter interest and then snip them off in the spring.

scrapbookpapers

These are just scrapbook papers I rolled up and tied with something pretty.

Laceflower

I made this lace flower from that lace I got at Goodwill a few weeks back. The brooch is also from Goodwill.

platter

I’m using one of the plate stands that I got at Goodwill. It's perfect for a holding a platter.

cups
The cups and butter pats are from Goodwill too.  I guess my house would be pretty empty if I didn’t have a Goodwill! Maybe I should have titled this post “Decorating with Goodwill Finds”!

runner
I draped one of my toile table runners on top of the chest. The candles need some extra height. So as you can see I lifted them up by putting a small plate on top of an upside down cup.

ivy

trays
mirror
Well, it’s back outside for me today! Thanks so much for stopping by!

Great idea on lifting up those candles for height. And I love your idea of reversing your platter. Never thought about doing that.

Manuela, it's so pretty. Love the view in the mirror. You have such creative ideas!

I was really happy to see your scrapbook paper. I have a little spot in my kitchen where I rolled up some favorite paper and put it in a watering can. The colors were too perfect to hide in a box somewhere!

Very pretty as usual. I like your creative uses for coffee filters, as well as the idea for lifing up the candles. And so many wonderful Goodwill finds.
As soon as I finish cleaning out the closets and garage I will be heading to Goodwill. Doing some dropping off and hopefully some picking up.

I heard about the weather from my daughter up there. Hope the weather is nicer today and you can get back to the garden.

I love the cups and saucers in the cloche. The mirror is nice too. The way it reflects and adds its own artistic touch.

I also think I would like to visit YOUR Goodwill. Ours just doesn't seem to offer up such lovelies very frequently...although I think I do remember you saying that you know when they are most likely to be well stocked. I just get there when it is convenient.

Oh my gosh those candles are GORGEOUS! What a pretty display! I love all of it! : )

Beautiful display, Manuela! I really love that lace flower you made with the brooch attached. I have been making sure I look at the jewelry display case before I leave my Goodwill now, because sometimes they have some really nice pieces. Along with brooches, I usually find a pair of clip-on earrings that work really well as an embellishment.

Hi manuela,
Was the ebay auction for your piere duex from :joshsuffern if so I have bid on her Piere Duex items and have won. It was a big savings for new items from the retail stores. I think she gets the factory seconds, I noticed, But I still love the treasures I won.

I REALLY LOVE YOUR SENSE of STYLE... I am sure when one sees it in person it is a Awwwwwww!!!! moment for them!! as it would be for me as well.

It looks to be that you put on your creative decorating thinking cap and thats what I adore about your home and blog.

I will be back soon to take more in.

Loving all your pretties...SO picture perfect . I'm telling you we must have been sisters separated along the way, we like so many of the same things.
I have a jar that looks very much like the one your hydrangeas are in, and I was saving it for dried greens or the blues (hydrangeas) this year when they pop out!!!!!!!
And I found another Tole tray, girl. (GW-$2.99) - It is a basket of fruit. I even ran back to your blog to see if it was one you have! I know where the tray is that has the chicken scene on it...and I keep watching for the gal to mark it down in her little booth...no such luck. She wants either 14.99 or 18.99 for it...can't remember...but TOOOOO much. I will keep watching! :-)
Maybe I can get her to come down...
Love the Toile runner. All so lovely. Enjoyed my visit! Take care- thanks for posting such neat pics...hugs, Julie

Your home is so lovely and I love the way you've done the collage of things in your dining room. Everything is just right together. You have great ideas! And what an inspiration you are to me. I need to slow life down a bit and play with some of my things. Time to make some changes - and, believe me, I have enough stuff stashed away there will be no money involved at all!
