Painted Halltree

Come on in! “They” say that a foyer should set the tone for what people will find in the rest of your home.
photo1
I guess people will know I like red…and dogs!

goodwill
I finished painting my Goodwill halltree. Here it is waiting for me at Goodwill.
after
Here it is all painted.  I first primed it with Kilz spray primer and then used  3 coats of Behr California Poppy in satin (it probably could use another)!

BASKET

I didn’t get around to distressing it and glazing it. I think I’m going to live with it like this for a while and see if I even want to do that still. The basket the flowers are in is also from Goodwill.

mirrors
As are these little mirrors that I painted the same color as the halltree.

flowers

I’m not going to show you the entire foyer just yet as I have a few more things that I’m changing.

redmirror
This is the first house I’ve ever had that even had a foyer and this one is teeny tiny but I cram a lot of fun into it!

Thanks so much for stopping by! Oh, I few people asked what color I used for the mirror in the post below - Periwinkle in Satin by Krylon (spray paint from Home Depot).

Manuela, it turned out beautifully!!! I don't know how you manage to find such great buys. In my area, that hall tree would have been in an antique shop selling for a few hundred dollars.

I love it, Manuela! I also love the basket with the flowers you put on it. You've certainly inspired me to think about painting mine, although, I don't know what color I might do to go with my foyer.

You sound like me, lol. Red and dogs, two of my favorite things. I love the way the hall tree turned out. Fun and beautiful.

Gorgeous! And thank you for the name of the paint colors!

My husband and I were just talking about repainting our foyer yesterday. It's currently Merlot - beautiful color but makes it feel dark and cave-like.

Manuela,
You inspire me. Please come out to Calif and help me decorate when I move into my hacienda cottage. I want to give it the charm and cozyness you have shown in your pics. Thanks for sharing.

Oh, Manuela, I love the new look. I too have a small foyer and thought it was too tiny to decorate, but you're right, it's a preview of the inside of your home. This is so cheery and the colors pop. Love it.

I love the way your hall tree turned out. And the basket of daisies is just perfect there. I wish I had an entryway but we just step into the living room. The first house we owned was a big, older home that had been carefully redone. I had the entryway one dreams of but no money to do the things I dreamed of doing there. A hall tree would have been perfect. Now I just visualize what I would have done with that home if it had been possible and I love the way I could have done it. I'm happy with my little ranch-style home that has no entryway and I'm constantly working to improve and redo things. You always inspire me! Thank you, my friend.

I have NEVER EVER seen something so grand at my GW, only beat up cheap junk for outrageous prices.

I love the colors in the foyer, warm and inviting.

I'm on the hunt for a front hall thingamabob. I would love an old dresser that I can put a mirror above, and use the drawers for storage. I'm trying not to be too specific in my head so I can get a bargain when I see one.

looks great! and I do relate to the many coats of red paint needed, "been there, done that" as they say

PS: The scrolly mirror frames in red are just too-too cool!

Two things we have very much in common...red and dogs! I love it!!! So much better than the way it was! It's like it was just made for your foyer! Love the hooks on it too and the basket. It will be so fun to decorate! Come say hi :D

I sure need to get around to painting that garage sale mirror I have. Seeing yours all red and pretty reminded me once again how pretty it could be. Your foyer is gorgeous, as inviting as your entire home. I have a little "spot" for a foyer. And it's sadly lacking in aesthetics. I need to get my "Manuela motor" going!
