Painted Halltree
Come on in! “They” say that a foyer should set the tone for what people will find in the rest of your home.
I guess people will know I like red…and dogs!
I finished painting my Goodwill halltree. Here it is waiting for me at Goodwill.
Here it is all painted. I first primed it with Kilz spray primer and then used 3 coats of Behr California Poppy in satin (it probably could use another)!
I didn’t get around to distressing it and glazing it. I think I’m going to live with it like this for a while and see if I even want to do that still. The basket the flowers are in is also from Goodwill.
As are these little mirrors that I painted the same color as the halltree.
I’m not going to show you the entire foyer just yet as I have a few more things that I’m changing.
This is the first house I’ve ever had that even had a foyer and this one is teeny tiny but I cram a lot of fun into it!
Thanks so much for stopping by! Oh, I few people asked what color I used for the mirror in the post below - Periwinkle in Satin by Krylon (spray paint from Home Depot).

Manuela - It looks absolutely lovely! Such a happy color! What great finds! And I LOOOOVE that basket you found!
Manuela, it turned out beautifully!!! I don't know how you manage to find such great buys. In my area, that hall tree would have been in an antique shop selling for a few hundred dollars.

Love it...red and yellow...one of my favorite color combinations....love this blog...blessings on your week...
I love it, Manuela! I also love the basket with the flowers you put on it. You've certainly inspired me to think about painting mine, although, I don't know what color I might do to go with my foyer.
Great job. It is amazing what paint can do!

You sound like me, lol. Red and dogs, two of my favorite things. I love the way the hall tree turned out. Fun and beautiful.
Gorgeous! And thank you for the name of the paint colors!
My husband and I were just talking about repainting our foyer yesterday. It's currently Merlot - beautiful color but makes it feel dark and cave-like.

Manuela,
You inspire me. Please come out to Calif and help me decorate when I move into my hacienda cottage. I want to give it the charm and cozyness you have shown in your pics. Thanks for sharing.

Good morning Manuela! I just had a thought about that color on your beautiful hall tree...I bet there is a surge in paint at Home Depot today buying that color!!! It is gorgeous and is wonderful in your foyer! I just love how wonderful it looks!
Blessings,
Debbie
Wonderful, Manuela. It is so inviting and just says welcome. I love red and dogs too.

Good Morning Manuela--
Your halltree is gorgeous. That color with the yellow flowers is indeed very iniviting. Just like you.
Have a wonderful day.
Oooooh and aaaah Manuela! This turned out awesome! I just adore the cheerful red color on it. You have me wanting to buy a can of red paint and paint something red. Gorgeous job my friend! :)
Like the basket as flower display-love to see items re-purposed - unique and beautiful...
Oh, Manuela, I love the new look. I too have a small foyer and thought it was too tiny to decorate, but you're right, it's a preview of the inside of your home. This is so cheery and the colors pop. Love it.
It turned out so pretty and I like that you painted the mirror frames to match.
Enjoy your week.
I just LOVE this hall tree! And the basket is the perfect accessory for it!! I just love baskets! And if I walked in your foyer, I would know that I had the EXACT same taste as you and would feel right at home, LOL! :)

I love that cheery red greeting visitors to your home. It looks wonderful and must bring a smile to your face.

I love the way your hall tree turned out. And the basket of daisies is just perfect there. I wish I had an entryway but we just step into the living room. The first house we owned was a big, older home that had been carefully redone. I had the entryway one dreams of but no money to do the things I dreamed of doing there. A hall tree would have been perfect. Now I just visualize what I would have done with that home if it had been possible and I love the way I could have done it. I'm happy with my little ranch-style home that has no entryway and I'm constantly working to improve and redo things. You always inspire me! Thank you, my friend.

I love your hall tree painted red. It looks awesome and the big basket of flowers is just perfect. It looks so cheerful and inviting. Great job. Hugs, Marty
Your hall tree looks wonderful! I love the red with the yellow walls. I don't have a foyer in my house...you are lucky!
I have NEVER EVER seen something so grand at my GW, only beat up cheap junk for outrageous prices.
I love the colors in the foyer, warm and inviting.
You find the BEST things at your GW. Mine usually has junk and it is overpriced at that!
LOVE the bright red color and the basket with the flowers is perfect. It looks so inviting. Also, I love you doggie pictures!! Hope you are having a great Monday.♥
Manuela,
I love the red and what a fun color name...California Poppy! It looks like it was made just for your foyer...beautiful! You have a great decorating style...always love and enjoy my visits!
Wendy
Oh do I love the red! That is such a cute basket I just in love with it!
Oh girl this hall tree looks so happy now...Love it what an awesome job you did my friend...Hugs and smiles Gl♥ria
Beautiful
Enjoy this beautiful day!!
I'm on the hunt for a front hall thingamabob. I would love an old dresser that I can put a mirror above, and use the drawers for storage. I'm trying not to be too specific in my head so I can get a bargain when I see one.
looks great! and I do relate to the many coats of red paint needed, "been there, done that" as they say
Hi Manuela! Your hall-tree turned out BEAUTIFUL and that red just pops. Anyone entering your home will know this is a friendly happy home...just like you! Have a wonderful Monday...Maura:)
Wowsa ~ Love how it turned out, Manuela! The vibrant red against the buttery yellow walls is a feast for the eyes and that cheery basket of flowers is the perfect compliment. I'm off to ponder my little entry to see if I can't freshen it up a bit...
PS: The scrolly mirror frames in red are just too-too cool!
Oh you finished it!! It does make a statement and I love it!! I have a small foyer too. Always wanted a hall tree but had to settle for a table because I have an antique mirror hanging there. Great job!!
Two things we have very much in common...red and dogs! I love it!!! So much better than the way it was! It's like it was just made for your foyer! Love the hooks on it too and the basket. It will be so fun to decorate! Come say hi :D
Everyone needs a red room or a red space to decorate. Amazing how much paint red takes. Love the look.I f those flowers are fake they sure don't look it. Blessings Meg
I love this red it's kind of soft for a red. The basket is very cute. Good job. Do you use a brush or roller? On tv you see them using these little rollers all the time. Linda
That is gorgeous! You always inspire me.
Oh, Manuela! You're so wonderful! I love your hall tree! You've painted it the most wonderful color and it fits perfectly in that spot! Love how you've dressed her up too! Oh, you're good1
be a sweetie,
Shelia ;)
It looks gorgeous! I love the color red.
It's very cheery!
It looks great and a perfect fit to your warm inviting home! Though I think that basket NEEDS to be on a cute little bicycle! I'm hosting a giveaway if you have a moment to stop by!
I would definitely say that your foyer is very welcoming, warm, charming, fun, and lovely. Great job on the halltree!
The red gives you such a dramatic statement! Love the periwinkle color, too! Enjoy your week! ♥
So glad you painted it red. Looks awesome! You are making me want to do some cute stuff in my foyer too!
Love the red, Manuela~ so cheery and welcoming! My foyer is full of fun dog stuff, too~ I am a dog girl!

Lady in Red. : ) Just fabulous. Sounds like quite the paint job.
Your foyer is certainly inviting.
Looking forward to seeing the whole thing.
Fabulous, Manuela! I love the red.

Oh I love that...I'm looking for a hall tree myself...and seeing yours painted like that inspires me!
It is fabulous!! I love it!! What a great find and what a great job at making it a cheery focal point as you enter your beautiful home.
:)
Becky
Gorgeous job! My fave red! Cherry
I just LOVE the pop of red color! Such a great GW find you have!
Beautiful! Yellow and red make a cheery combination. A foyer does makes a statement as people enter your home and yours definitely says "welcome". :0)
Pretty in Red!!!
Love,
Susan and Bentley

Just perfect and absolutely beautiful! It looks amazing in your foyer.
Another project well done!
I sure need to get around to painting that garage sale mirror I have. Seeing yours all red and pretty reminded me once again how pretty it could be. Your foyer is gorgeous, as inviting as your entire home. I have a little "spot" for a foyer. And it's sadly lacking in aesthetics. I need to get my "Manuela motor" going!
Brenda
So beautiful Manuela! My favorite color is red. So bright and cheerful!
I would love it if you linked it up to The CSI Challenge's Paint Challenge that's going on through Thursday. We are giving out 2 $30 gift certificates to The Rusted Chain (determined through random.org). www.thecsiproject.com
Have a great week!

I LOVE your hall tree! What a perfect spot for it too. Your mirrors are looking fab Manuela! I have been painting more also as I find them and hanging them as I go. I will be sharing those tomorrow. So fun!
It is always a treat to see what you have been up to. I truly love all that you do - thank you for sharing with lucky us. You are such an inspiration.

My first comment didn't take:) I love it! The red is perfect and I love the basket with the flowers and those darlin' little red-painted mirrors!
You did a fabulous job on that! Love that color! I need to scour our Goodwills around here to see if I can find anything that I can turn beautiful! : )
The hall tree looks awesome in red. Can't wait to see what you do with the rest of the room.
Manuela, oh how I am loving that red halltree. Also loving those mirrors. Can't wait to see what else you are doing. Have a good holiday tomorrow.
I love wood, but I like the red painted version of the hall tree so much better. Love that pop of color that brings so much interest and variety to a home.
