The Winner & I Like……

Gnomes! Yes, another collection. I collect ….gnomes. There I’ve said it LOL!
Sleepinggnome
There’s just something about them. My daughter thinks they look like they’re always plotting something!

Welcomegnome
I got this nice big one from my Husband for Mother’s Day. Isn’t it nice that he supports my odd obsession collection!

gnomecircle

This summer Target had a lot of little garden picks so every time we’d go I’d pick up a little Gnome.

Littlegnomes
Usually they face into the kitchen window so we can see them from inside but I faced them out to take photos (again my daughter thinks they’re creepy looking in). I think they’re cute and have personality (well...some of them do look a bit angry or worried)!

gnomes2
So now you know! Do you collect anything that other’s think of as “odd”? Tell me I’m not alone! One of my neighbors collects concrete swans and another one concrete deer. Obviously I’m living in the right neighborhood (although my gnomes are in the backyard)!~smile

On to other things…

The winner is……

Susan (Simple Pleasures Simple Treasures).

Congratulations!

Please contact me with your mailing address and I’ll mail the magazine out next week (maybe even this week if I’m by the Post Office).

ginghamplate
I’ve had lots of inquiries as to the name of the flag plates and these teacups. The pattern of the cups is “Red Vintage Rose” by Peppertree Tabletops. I got one in a local store and one on ebay.

The flag plates are from Moda Home and I’ve read they are phasing out their melamine plate line. But the pattern is Picket Fence (she only has the little plates left). Shoot me an email if you find a place that still sells the dinner plates and I’ll update this post to include that info as it seems a lot of people would like these.

Edited to add: You can find the plates at http://www.cspost.com/. Thank you Susan!

I think your gnomes are adorable. I especially love the vintage chippy faded ones.

Besides my rooster collection, which I am NOT buying anymore :-), I don't have another one...yet.
Hugs,
Penny

When I was a child, not knowing any better, I used to talk to garden gnomes, the way people do to pets, just assuming they understood..well, at least the ones that didn't frighten me a little..
I love your 'heritage' gnome in the first picture..very jolly..
I collect pigs, and have a Piggie Tuesday on my blog..

Congratulations to the lucky winner!!

Who isn't Debbie on Wheels...
again... I'm crowning myself the biggest loser and calling it a win regardless.

I love the gnome collection and would never have thought of one. They are wonderful little lawn whimsy, and I agree with your daughter that they look like they are plotting something.

Of course, I can't look at them without saying (aloud) "I have bubbles up my whoopsie daisy" in my Roaming Gnome voice.

I collect bells.
Since I'm such a ding-a-ling.

I think the way you have your gnomes on display is adorable. It's very happy and playful. That's how gnomes should be. ;-)

Thank you sooooo much! I'm totally thrilled to be the winner of your magazine contest. I can't wait to see it. Talk about fun. I'll be thumbing through it for hours with a cup of tea (or four). I sent you my mailing address. Thank you again!

Hope you have a lovely day,
Susan

I think the gnomes are so cute tucked here and there in your garden. I painted a gnome for my mom in 8th grade ceramics class and she still has it! I am in the process of cleaning out a lot of my current collections, then I can decide what the next oone will be:>)

Hi Manuela! So good to catch up with all your posts today! We've been so busy with a move and then family visiting from the US (!!!) that I have hardly been on my computer.
You are brave to admit your gnome collection! There are some serious gnome haters out there! :) They look so cute in your yard.
I posted some new pics on my blog today! Hope you'll take a peak!
Blessings on you and your family!

Manuela, they are so cute. I think others just think that the fact that I have SO many collections is odd. I have those Moda Home plates too, and when I showed them on my blog, a lot of people were asking about them. I got mine at Tues. Morning about a month ago. laurie

Oh!! We love them! They remind us of the "Little Bear" Stories we read when the kids were little. There was always a sneaky little gnome in story..the kids always get so excited when they see one in someone's yard!

Hi Manuela, I was just going back through some of your older posts, and you have such a beautiful home!! and reading you do it on a very great budget!! I love that you are sharing with us where you got things and how you made things into something else!! One of my favs was your planter outside that you just put plates in cuz it's so hot out!! I am going to look around here and see if I can do something like that!! It's been so hot here in Mich. that I am very behind on my gardening!!! Thanks and take care, XO Fran.

lol, they can be adorable and jolly little things sometimes. ;) I've never been a big fan but they're growing on me...

I like gnomes. I think sometimes they can be pretty evil and creepy looking as well as some that look pretty cute; but aren't people just like that too. (Mind you, I don't think we'd stick them in our garden and have them stare at us!)

Your collection is cute. I collect Elvis Presley things. :) There my secret is out now!

I *think* I like gnomes, but I do not have any in my yard. I like the little ones on the mushrooms.

Congrats to Susan for winning the draw!

I collect little pieces of colored glass. I don't even know why. I just like looking at it in my mason jar.

Your daughter's reaction cracks me up! I don't have garden gnomes, but I like to dream about flower fairies living in my garden... does that count? Actually, I do have a small collection of old rusty things ~ coffee cans, scissors, keys, suitcases, etc. No rhyme nor reason, just some eclectic junque that tickles my fancy.
