Out On The Porch
….is this.
This is what we see from the dining room. A colorful collection of birdhouses!
I repainted this birdhouse that I got at Goodwill for $4. It was a sage green and white so I made it more me.
Because I’m not a sage green type of person. I’m an apple green type of person.
This is really all I did this year out on my cold screened porch. Since we’re moving I didn’t want to do a whole lot since I didn't want to have undo a lot!
If you’d like to see what I did out here last year go here for last year's cozy winter porch – fireplace and all (sold the fpl to a neighbor during the summer).
Hope you’re having a wonderful weekend! Looks like a winter storm is headed our way and I wish I still had the fireplace. Brrrr!

I love the birdhouses! I had a big back porch in a house a few years ago and wanted to collect them...but never really found any as beautiful as yours! I ended up with some 'real' bird nests though that I enjoyed! Stay warm! ♥
Hello Marty!
The birdhouses look wonderful :o) They must make you smile each time you look at them.
My very best wishes to you and yours for 2011.

Beautiful birdhouses, all colors! Have a blessed day and YES it certainly does look like a Winter storm is heading our way! HUGS!
I love your birdhouses too! I noticed in one of the pictures a little white terrarium like I used to have! Love it! Have a great day♥
truly looks fabulous!
The birdhouse neighborhood looks great! Sorry that you let the fireplace go too soon. Perhaps another will pop up for you at Goodwill or the thrift shop.
Your little bird houses are darling! I adore them. The colors are definitely you, too.
That fireplace would have been very cozy, oh dear, not a Winter storm, they aren't too kind to you people down there, are they!?
Stay warm and safe, my friend.
Love and hugs, Cindy
It looks great! I just saw the cutest birdhouse - it looked like an old camper - really sweet.
Nice view, Manuela! Those people - they apparently decided to wait until Spring to look. Okay, by me. We are set to list by the end of the month, first week in February. Fingers crossed! : )
Love your bright and cheery bird house porch! What a fun way to add some color to the area. We all need some fun and color in our lives, don't you agree? Hope you've had a blessed day! -Nancy
Love the birdhouses. Such a fun and colorful collection. Stay warm. :-) 14 degrees here.
Like your cute birdhouse neighborhood!:D
Stay warm - is the snow headed your way?
Enjoy your weekend.
Glenda
love your birdhouses....i am staying inside next to my indoor fireplace, while it snows outside here....spending time letting my shoulder heal from surgery...
hugs,
penny
It snowed all day here, the sweet soft falling snow that doesn't leave much by way of inches but just pretty!
I like what you've done with your porch. It's such a nice welcoming space.
Enjoy your snow!

Very nice Manuela. Hope you are having a great weekend. For some reason, I know you are moving and yet it feels that you are moving out of blogland. I know you aren't but I just feel a little sad about the move. Hopefully your next home will give you much happiness. Take care.
that is so cute! :) i love it. So cozy:-) good work as always:-)
hugs,
Melissa
I LOVE all the birdhouses! So pretty! And even without the fireplace (which was gorgeous, by the way), you do have quite the cozy porch!
And we're getting snow, too. They say 3 - 7 inches which is very rare for the Memphis area. Fun times! : )
What an adorable grouping. It is neat that you were able to make even these details "yours".
That looks SO cheerful, I love it.
I thought of you when I heard Atlanta may be getting hit by another big snow!
I love it- makes me miss my porch which is currently covered in a snow drift : )
very lovely, do you know what is on my porch? SNOW and way too much of it!!!
Love your wonderful porch and the cute display of birdhouses. I bet you do miss that fireplace! You can always get another one if you want. I have actually been looking through your archives today...not that I haven't already looked at them many times before. Love your posts and get so much inspiration from them. Have a great weekend and try to stay warm!
I know you smile when you look out your window at your winter porch and see your colorful birdhouses.
I hope you have a pretty snow with no ice! Losing electricity with ice is the pits.
It looks so sweet and I love the outside fireplace. Lovely!
Love your porch! We don't have a porch like yours -I'd love to but we couldn't decorate it or use it during our wet winters here in Oregon. Everything would be soaked! Dreaming of the day I can have a screen porch with windows that 'pop' in for the winter! My sweetheart just smiles and listens to me dream!
~Adrienne~
I like Apple Green much better as well. So much cleaner and crisper!
Your porch looks great. I love the birdhouses.
Geeze... there are so many wonderful little areas in your home, isn't there? I LOVE IT!
I really want to do more of that with my place. I lack imagination however.... ;p
((Hugs))

Love the birdhouse and your porch.
Your porch looks lovely and welcoming, Manuela! Just perfect.

How colorful and welcoming, Manuela! soon you will have a snowy shot of it to show us! Hope you are warm and cozy today!...hugs...Debbie
It makes me sad to think of you tearing apart your beautiful rooms, but it will be fun to see what you do with a new house. Lucky neighbor. Linda
Love the darling birdhouses! Don't we just thirst for a little color during these blander months of winter?! Oh my. Love the fireplace. Wish I had been the one to buy it ... I'd so be enjoying it now! Bess
I'm a big old birdhouse gal so I love it. Also, I'm more apple green these days too. It's whimsical and happy! I hope your prep for sale is going well!
And that fireplace is darling. Wish I were your neighbor.
So good to "see" you! Be careful in the Atlanta storm. My husband is there right now... waiting...
I still love birdhouses. I've got quite a collection. Yours are adorable. Stay warm! Mimi
It looks so warm and cozy. I want a screened in porch.
I do remember this porch...what a cute place to be! I wish I had an inside porch, I would spend all day there! :D
You see, that's always been my excuse for being such a packrat..can't get rid of it, what if i need it?
Love the birdhouses, and you've inspired me to do some painting on my outdoor knicknacks...
Oh my! I remember how lovely Saturday was...and today! Gracious me! I've got snow here and I'm a good 100 or so miles south of you.
Love the birdhouses, I was looking at me the other day and decided that they need to change from the red/white/blue theme to something with more color. I'm thinking turquoise, yellow, red, white, lime.
Yes, we have snow on the ground, oddly enough. I love your birdhouses!
Brenda
I love your view and the collection of bird houses is adorable.
I love your view. All those trees. Nice. Great job with the bird houses.
It's all so very pretty. Keep warm and cozy! :)
Blessings,
Camille
What a beautiful porch! I also love bird houses, decorative ones and ones for the little birdies to live in. I had some decorative ones on my porch last year and I had to stuff the openings with paper because the wasps made nests in them.
Beuatiful and cheerful Manuela! :)
awwww! So springy! Kinda makes me sad we have more snow on our way! Love all the color!
:-D

Hope you are weathering the storm Manuela! Love your porch vignettes...you are such an artist. :)
Love and good thoughts to you my friend!
Warmly,

Beautiful and peaceful. I love the your property in the background!
Yvonne
It looks so cute as always! Have you sold your house yet?
Those bird houses are so pretty! It's always so satisfactory to look out the window and see something nice.
Around here we only have pigeons and they're mostly disturbing.
I was considering to string some peanuts and hand it on the balcony or in a window and attract some fun bird traffic this way :)
Your blog is gorgeous!
