Wren Bay Winner & Other Stuff!
Hello Lovelies! The winner of Wren Bay is……..
Marcia @ Blessed Mom's Simple Home!
Congratulations Marcia! Please go visit her blog (it’s one of my favorites btw) when you get a chance and congratulate her.
Thank you to all of you who entered! I know Clarice was encouraged by the lovely response. You guys are the best!
Other Stuff….
I just had to buy some daffodils when I saw that our forecast calls for possibly more snow next week. I can’t take it anymore! Really. We moved from New Jersey to Georgia to get away from that white stuff!
I re-potted them into this cute bowl that I got at TJMaxx.
I can have a bit of spring inside if I can’t have it outside!
At least it’s sunny today!
Also, for all of you who love BBC programming (like me) or who love Victoriana or maybe you’re just a history buff, there are clips on You Tube of Victorian Farm! I spent waaaaay too much time watching them yesterday when I was suppose to be painting doors! Just fascinating stuff!
I hope you all have a lovely weekend!

Rats! I didn't win... but I DID just order it from Lulu press!
Congratulations to Marcia!
Manuela, I watched the last in their latest series about the Edwardian Farm last Thursday evening - just as facinating! Hope you get to see it too soon.
Congratulations!!
And now I want to go re pot some daffodils. Of course, I'm not sure where I would find daffodils around this small town right now. I might need to make that a project for the traveling husband next week.
More snow in Atlanta? I better tell him. That's where he'll be headed. He was snowed in the hotel for two days last time.
Thanks for such a happy post!
Lovin' your beautiful daffs! I'm hoping to pick some up this weekend too-enjoy:@)
Congratulations to the winner!
i know exactly what you mean about the snow - I have had enough.
Thanks for sharing the link to the Victorian Farm - have a feeling I know what I will be doing later. :)
Enjoy your weekend.
After back to back blizzards last year, I can't believe I'm saying this but i wish some snow would come our way. We have been missed by each of the big storms this year and have only received a dusting. But I am looking forward to working in the garden and your daffodils have lifted my spirits today. Happy Weekend!
I got that bowl too, but I've been using it for food. It's so cute and does make you think Spring.
- The Tablescaper
I love those BBC productions and have watched several! The Victorian Farm looks great. Thanks for sharing!
Hi Manuela! Congrats to your winner! Now I love your pretty snaps of your home in the sunshine! The bowl you planted your flowers in is so sweet!
Hope you're doing well.
Be a sweetie,
Shelia ;)
As someone that really worries about the effect of factory farming on our environment, health and the poor animals, that documentary really interests me. Thanks for posting it :)
Congratulations to Marcia! Love your Jonquils AND the gorgeous bowl! Have a sweet Saturday! HUGS!
that is a lovely bit of sunshine you've got there :) some times the best things are the simplest :) if my cats wouldn't eat them, I'd run right out & get some daffodils too
Your flowers are just beautiful and love that adorable bowl!
Congrats to Marcia. I have the book--bought it months ago and throughly enjoyed it.
Manuela--beautiful photos of your lovely home. The daffadils certainly do bring a sunny feel. And just to make you sigh--I have hibiscus blooming in my garden. I'm not sure I could handle the snow. But it just makes spring that much more welcome.
Congratulations to the winner!
Manuela, your living room looks so pleasant, bright and spring like. I think I'll go cut some forsythia branches to bring in before the next snow "event".
I'm with you -- I can appreciate one snow in the winter season, but this is just getting ridiculous for our southern climes. We got 2 inches on Thursday (after 4 inches last week) and I see that more snow is coming tomorrow night or Monday.
Don't fret about the snow. I'm in Wisconsin and we get it ALL THE TIME! To make matters worse, I checked the weather online one day and found out that with the windchill, it was colder outside here than in Alaska! Something's just not right about that, lol.
Thanks for sharing the video. I love the Victorian era...along with many others.
Beautiful daffodils! I love having, as you said, "a bit of spring inside".
Now I am addicted to "Victorian Farm" - so thankful to have a washing machine and so inspired to work hard at home!
Thanks so much Manuela, and thank you to Clarice too! I'm looking forward to reading the book :-)
I'm so surprised at all the snow you've had there. Doesn't seem like Georgia at all, does it?
I just watched the video clip you shared. I want to watch the whole series now! I remember the one from quite a few years ago called "The 1900 House" or something sort of like that. It was good.
Thank you again!
Blessings,
Marcia
Your daffodils are beautiful. What a lovely way to brighten the winter's gloom.
Marcia is a sweetie! I'm glad she won. Love the breath of spring you have inside!
Brenda
It's me again! I realise that I never said just how lovely your dish and daffs are :o)
I've been trying to remember the older series with Alex, Peter and Ruth in from the BBC - it's Tales from the Green Valley, a year on a farm in 1620. (It's 2.30 am here and my insomnia raises it's ugly head...guess what's on TV, yep, Green Valley!) Hope you find it on you tube.
Congrats to MARCIA! I love her blog, too!!! I will check out Clarice's book! She is such a beautiful person and I just know that her book will reflect her love of the home perfectly. I have one of her cookbooks and love it!
Gorgeous flowers!!
xxoo

Congrats to Marcia for winning the lovely giveaway. Your daffodils are so pretty, they do add a touch of Spring to your bright and pretty living room.
I became so engrossed with the video of the Victorians that I almost forgot to comment. It certainly is a fascinating idea, living like people did back then. It was a hard life, but so much simpler, don't you think?
Hugs, Cindy
Completely fascinating! I got lost in that clip so fast that now I want an afternoon of it.
Congrats to Marcia!
Enjoy those daffodils...
Wow, that is a neat farm. Love your cheerful new bowl too.
Have a great week Manuela. ~Melissa :)
Hi Manuela, I am a BBC-aholic. :-) It is just about all the television I watch. I have scads of BBC DVD's. I love British television...there is just something about their sense of humor.
The Good Neighbors (The Good Life) is my favorite!
Love the flowers.
Barb
Well done to her!
Thank you for the recommendation!
It does fascinate! We have a historical living farm not far from here and its so fun to visit and do activities at. They dress the time period as well. We have been wanting to go in spring to see all the birthing of sweet baby animals.
