Red & Blue Transferware

Hi everyone! I'm finished with my china cabinet! I did one shelf with red dishes and one with blue dishes. I had a few emails about the wooden plate display stands that I use. I got them years ago at Bed Bath & Beyond and at that time they came in two sizes.

This one with larger spaces in between the dividers and this one with smaller spaces. Basically you can just layer larger to smaller plates if you want to use it facing out or the same size plates if you're doing it side ways.

Here's the full shelf of red dishes with the flash on (which I really hate to use.)

This is the blue shelf. Some pictures are with the flash on because otherwise the blue looks like black transferware (I do have a few pieces of that too ~ smile).

I couldn't resist that turkey tureen - $4.99 at TJ Maxx. They have the cutest turkey and pumpkin soup tureens this year!

Here's the whole cabinet. It'll pretty much stay this way until summer except the bottom shelf which I'll remove the blue transferware and set up a shelf of Christmas decorations.

Well I think I've redone every cabinet and bookcase I have upstairs! I'm finally going to work on the mess downstairs which is our family room. That's going to be my Christmas present to my family! We have so much squeezed into that room that I don't know where to begin. I love my house but I really could use one more room! I'm trying to come up with some creative storage ideas for my craft area which is in between our exercise area and my husband's desk (just so you get an idea of all that goes on down there!) Plus it's where we watch TV! I'll show you the big mess next week!

It looks great Manuela! I have red and blue transferware in my dining hutch. We stack them every other color (well, my husband does because he unloads the dishwasher and he is an engineer - nuff said lol)

Can't wait to see your downstairs and what you do with it!

Your collection is wonderful. I love the dish holders. All my dishes are mostly set flat. I have 4 sets of blue, and crystal, and started my Old country roses, if not, I love the red. But hubby says too many dishes!! I only get the old country roses, because the day before we got married, my teenage brother was driving the truck, and did a spin, and out went my china. The place where I worked bought me the whole set with serving pieces. one cup and plate was all that was left.I get to collect my OCR set, with my saying its been 31 years, its time I get a china set. Love your cabinet. You have a lot in one space it makes a big impact. Its wonderful. Before you do living room come and arrange my dishes!! lol

Manuela, those dishes are so beautiful. I just can't understand how you find the time to do so much. You must be SUPERWOMAN, because I barely get motivated. I better get back on my vitamin b12, that might help. Very nice, thx for sharing. Take care.

It turned out very pretty, Manuela. You most certainly have a gift for grouping and staging! Lovely collection.

I spent some time this afternoon repurposing some things I already own to satisfy my decorating urges. We've been in our new home a few months now, but it still has bare spots. Hoping to find a darling cabinet or hutch like yours in my treasure hunting one of these days...

I'd like to have more rooms in my house so each one of us can use a more private space just for oneself! I'm waiting for your ideas to come, so maybe I can steal one for me.

Your red and blue transferware is beautiful and thanks for the tip on the turkey tureens. I might need to get one.

I'm going to see if I can make one of those plate holders. It looks like mostly dowels and I can use a drill press, so I'm going to try it. They display your plates beautifully.
