An Early Christmas Present

Hi everyone! Remember this piece from Goodwill?

Well we were in Goodwill  last weekend and it was still there! I had told my husband about it but I was sure it would be gone. Not only was it there but that day all blue ticket items were 50% off so I got it for just over $30 dollars! When we went to check out the guy in front of me said that he'd been looking at it for weeks but that he already had two at home and couldn't figure out where to put another. Some things are just meant to be!

I told my husband that he should consider it a Christmas present from him to me. Like alot of families we're cutting back on the gift giving this year and we had agreed on one present each. Although, I'm sure he's going to ignore my suggestion~smile. I'm very very happy with my present!

I plan on painting it in the spring when I can do it outside or at least keep the door open.  I can just imagine all sorts of fun things to do with it for each season!

I had to take down all my black mirrors - so all those need to be re-hung. But I'll wait until after New Year's to do that.
Remember when I found this chandelier in a neighbors garbage?

Well, the same neighbor threw this away! A perfectly good rattan loveseat!  Absolutely nothing wrong with it - nothing's loose, just needs some cushions.

I have a little protected area on my concrete patio which is a cantelivered portion of the kitchen that I'm going to put that under. It should stay dry there. She has a matching chair still sitting on her front porch (painted lime green btw). I slow down whenever I drive past her house! LOL

I hope you are all having a wonderful weekend! It's raining here (again) so we've been inside crafting and baking. I hope to be able to show you next week what I've been up to. I'm waiting for a sunny day to take photos of my Christmas decoration in my living room and looks like that won't happen until the middle of next week!

Thanks for stopping by!

How truly lucky! And it has a mirror to reflect all your pretties you're going to feature on it! Manuela, you just have the best ideas. So many frugal ways to decorate. And you're such a sweet soul! (My husband and I are foregoing presents this year. Have to pay for that fence we're having built!)

Oh Manuela! What a perfect addition to your entry! It looks gorgeous and you got such a good deal on it. It was meant to be.
I'm so happy for you!

Enjoy this joy filled season!
~Warmly, ~Melissa :)

PS Your home entryway is identical to my in-laws former home that my hubby grew up in. It must have been built during the same time frame. Around 1970 I think? They retired and live in Florida now.

it looks like it was just made for that spot and your decorations in it are so nice.

great neighbor you have too! When I was walking a few weeks ago, one of my neighbors had 2 boxes of never opened BBW wall flowers and a package of Glade candles sitting right on top of her open trash can.
You can bet I picked them up -

I laughed so hard when you said that you slow down to look at the chair on her porch...funny! Maybe she'll put it out on the road one day too..she seems to tire of nice things! I love the piece in the entry..just fits, must have been waiting just for you! It's a perfect place for seasonal decorating too. Very neat~ Come say hi :D

Oh wow, it's beautiful! What a wonderful gift.

I know I shouldn't complain but I am sooooo tired of the rain!!! Our yard (South of ATL) is so soggy and hasn't had time to dry out at all! Cold and rainy is my least favorite of all!

Love all your Christmas decor! My Snowman dishes were actually from Bath & Body Works. I saw them years ago and loved them but wouldn't pay full price for them. I went early the day after Christmas and bought all they had at 50% off!

Congrats on your wonderful finds, I am so happy for you. Your decorations are just so beautiful. Thanks so much for stopping by and your kind comments. Sorry it took so long for me to get back to you, we lost our electricity Wed., after a terrible wind storm, so for two days we were in the dark. Needless to say, I have been a little busy trying to catch up. Hope we talk soon.

Oh, I love your early Christmas present. When my children were very young we lived in a stately, old and wonderful house at the Oregon Coast. Our entry way was large with open bannister staircase and I needed one of these for my entryway. I could never afford one and never found it in any of my thrifting during those days. What a wonderful new treasure you have. It's perfect! Can't wait to see it when it's painted. ~Adrienne~

Good things come to those who wait, sometimes.... LOL I'm glad you were able to purchase this hall table, Manuela. Once you get it fixed up the way you want to, it will be lovely, I'm sure. Like your "new" rattan seating, too.
Have fun baking and fixing up the house for us to see!

That's a great piece! I have something similar but it has some filigree wood work at the top of the mirror which would make it a bigger job than I want to get involved with to paint it, but I would do it if it was like yours. Have fun with it!

Linda said...

I think that was a present to you from God! He knows what we like! (:>) I am so happy for you!

It is an awesome piece and looks so good there by your door. A perfect little piece to put little seasonal decorations on...or a place to set your purse when you come in etc.

It looks fine like it is...but I know you will make it your own by painting it and adding your special touches.

Merry Christmas!
