Favorite Things

Bluemottoplate
Hi everyone! I’m joining Laurie @ Bargain Hunting & Chatting With Laurie for Favorite Things Saturday. Be sure to stop by there to see all the other people participating.

One of my favorite things is plates. My other favorite thing is stuff that has words, so these plates combine two favorites. I have them hanging off the side of my china cabinet.

plates

They all say Ironstone Staffordshire England on the back.  I'm always looking for these but they're not easy to find. If I do find them, it's always the same ones I already have. So it's been a few years since I was able to add to this collection.

CottageofContent
Here’s a close up of my favorite. I’ve always thought that The Cottage of Content would be a great name for a house!

Noplace
Isn’t that the truth!

Thanks so much for stopping by to see one of my favorite things! Hope you all have a lovely weekend!

I just did a post about my plates on Monday! A few people said that once I start collecting I won't be able to stop and I think I agree with them.

Your plates are just beautiful and the script on them is so beautiful. I love them all!

Best wishes,
Natasha.

Oh that name is perfect for a home. Love it!

I have not seen the cute chairs at Pier 1. I do need to go back soon though. I want to add another outdoor rug to my front porch and they did have some nice ones. I'll take a look at the chairs.

Have a great weekend. ~Melissa :)

You are so creative--hanging plates on the side of your china cabinet. Of course -- not surprising because you have plates displayed in other "unusual" locations. Love your style!! And love those plates.

Manuela, I love your plates with the little sayings on them. You are right..you don't see those often. I'm going to be on the look out now!

Thanks for your comment on reading blogs. I will look into Bloglines.

I love these plates. I look for plates (and cups and saucers)also - usually with a rose design. I love Staffordshire but don't seem to have as much luck with finding that - though I do have a complete set of Jenny Lind that I bought at an antique store, and I love it.....but it wasn't cheap.

I like all your pretty little plates with the sayings on them. I have seen the one with the bluebird on it before... tried to bid on one of those on e-bay once, but lost. Sigh. Will have to try again.
