Mercury Glass Lamp

transferwareturren
Hi everyone! I’m so glad you guys liked the coffee filter wreath! Be sure to let me know if you post one on your blog as I’d love to come by to see it.

I wanted to show you the great mercury glass lamp I got at TJ Maxx for $39. Neither my husband nor I could really read with the light we had in the living room. We used to be able to just fine - but that's another story LOL!

Anyway, there was a white lamp with a black and white toile lampshade on the table inbetween our chairs. It's pretty but we really needed something that gave off more light. I'll just move it into our bedroom (which is black and cream toile).

Most of you know I love mercury glass (like a lot of you) and have pretty good collection of candlesticks.

So I couldn’t believe it when I saw a mercury glass lamp at TJ Max. I think I squealed when I saw it and I'm not given to squealing~smile!

Love it!  Love TJ Maxx!
Blackmirror

I have so many mirrors hanging around that used to be in my foyer, that I took one to use as a tray of sorts. I like the black scrollyness against the white of the table. I’m sure my husband will ask me to move it (so he can put his coffee cup down) when he gets back, but for the time being I’m going to enjoy it! LOL!

Well, I'm headed back outside to continue planting. Thanks for taking the time to drop by today!

Thanks for all the inspiration! I love the mercury glass candle with ribbon and brooch...so pretty and simple. Plus I just picked up a mirror last week at GW similar to yours and I have no place to hang it I never thought of using it on a tabletop! Such pretty things!

What a fabulous, fabulous find! I just love Mercury glass, though so far my collection is limited to candlesticks.

Oh I might've squealed, too. I just hope that it is as functional as beautiful because you two need to be able to see what you're reading. It looks very nice there just as you have it. Can't hubby balance the mug and his book? :D

Well, I like the reflection of the mirror on the table. But then again I know that husbands want things a certain way too! I have been trying to find that shade of green candles ever since you first showed them. Where did you say you purchased them? I thought you said IKEA, but I could be thinking of something else. We don't have one around here anyway.

That lamp is gorgeous. Glad you got such a good deal and a lamp that will help you see better.

Love it!

Not only do we need more light... but longer arms too. How does someone who used to be near sighted end up far sighted in such a short time?

Anyway, back to the lamp, I am happy that you found one that you love.

What a wonderful lamp! Once again you have found something wonderful!

Richella Parham said...

I'd squeal if I found that one, too!

Isn't it AMAZING how you get to the point where you just have to have more light in order to read something? I've always had 20/20 vision, and I'm hating this part of aging. . . but that's the way it goes.

TJMaxx rocks. No doubt about it. :)

I never thought to place a mirror under a lamp, what a great idea. Where did you find the mirror with the black scroll work on it? I haven't ever seen a mirror like that. I would love to create a look like that too. It really looks great.

One of my favorites is Vaseline glass. It is hard to find now.

But your lamp is really neat.

My SIL likes lots of mirrors. I am glad that you liked the one on my blog. I don't think I would have put it outside.

Have a wonderful day.

Beautiful new lamp!! And I really love the platter under the blinged out candle and the black mirror under the lamp!! I'm all for new ways to use mirrors, as I sell antique mirrors and am always telling clients to use them as plateau mirrors for a change!

Hi Manuela,
The pollen has really died down here. Thank goodness! I have the worst allergies ever and I was really feeling it and not in a good way. Alex is going to have to mow again this weekend after all. The new fertilizer he put down from Scotts really worked. The yard is growing like crazy.

I found a new red bird tray at Pier 1 on clearance that I think all of my tray loving blog friends will like. I'll take some pics and show it soon.

Have a great weekend. ~Melissa :)
