Simple Pleasures

Bow
Fresh flowers on my dining room table.

I love having fresh flowers in my home and I’ve found that the best place to buy them is at the grocery store.
Vase

I’m fortunate that my local grocery store marks down their flowers every week. But even if they didn’t, I’d still buy a bouquet.  I budget $5-10 every other week for flowers - it's that important to me!
Flowers

I’ve found that I don’t have to buy them every week. If you take care to change the water frequently and remove the leaves below the water, they will often last up to two weeks (and I’ll confess that I use faux flowers if they don’t)!

Another thing I love – pom pom fringe! Everything looks so much cuter with a few pom poms don’t ya think?

The white mums look so simple and pretty. I love a red toile runner and with pom poms? I love it even more:>)

Lately my local grocery has gotten the prettiest flowers - the pink and green ones I posted a few weeks ago were from there. And they last at least 10 days. Love it! Good for you for budgeting some beauty into your week.

I just think I need something in my house with pom pom fringe!

Your flowers are so pretty. I can get them at my store for $3.00 for a small bouquet. You are right, if you keep the water fresh and trim on the flowers a little, they will last a long time!

I so very much agree about the impact of fresh flowers. If I could, I think that I would have them in every room of the house.

Loved yours. Of course, I always love what you post.

My husband always buys me fresh flowers and I feel so guilty when he does, like we should be spending the money on something else. I should just enjoy their beauty and let him spoil me.

Simple and So Pretty!! I agree with you about buying them at the grocery. I picked up a small bouquet to take to my daughter's house last Friday, and started to buy extra for me, but I have been buying annuals to plant these days. :-)

Grocery store flowers are the best. My mother found some that last a long time.

Beautiful flowers! They do make ones day don't they.

We buy the marked down flowers from time to time and my hubby will bring me grocery store flowers every month or so. Another tip I use to help them last longer---or at least perk them up---is to take them out of the vase every few days and cut just a little bit off of the bottom of the stems. This allows them to pull up fresh water and it seems to help.

I saw a man buying a beautiful bouquet of pink tulips today in Target. Someone will def. have a wonderful day when they receive those.

Love your flowers, Manuela! I think that's a nice idea to do something for yourself and get some flowers. I do notice that my supermarket has some pretty nice bouquets but I usually only grab one if I'm going somewhere or having people over. Maybe I'll treat myself this week!

Hi Manuela! Oh, I love your decorating. Your table runner is the most darling thing! I love fresh flowers too and yours look gorgeous sitting in the pretty white pitcher.
Be a sweetie,

What a good idea, to budget for fresh flowers. They look so pretty and thanks for the great pointers on keeping them as long as they will allow by snipping leaves and fresh water. :o)

I love the idea of fresh flowers every week, what a great thing to budget!

I love fresh flowers also. I use to do A/P for a market that had a fresh flower department. Of course I got a discount but they had a great assortment of a little bunch of this and a little of that and you could put together your own bouquets at home. Moved an hour away from that area and I do not have anywhere close to buy flowers anymore. So I am waiting for my blooms here at home. Thanks for stopping by!

I love fresh flowers..can't wait till I have some in the garden so I don't have to spend on them.
Love pom poms too..Once I had curtains trimmed with them in our summer cottage. When we came back in Spring the mice had eaten all the pom poms! Imagine!

Soooo pretty! I love the simplicity of a single color and style of flower so much more than a bouquet of different colors and stlyes.

I buy mine at the grocery store too....

So fresh and lovely! I, too, love fresh flowers. We've had lilacs on our table for the last couple of weeks as our lilac bushes are in full bloom.

Completely agree about the flowers. I found, on clearance at TJ Maxx, a beautiful creamer, stopped by the florist on my way home and picked up just enough to fill that little beauty. I've enjoyed the fresh color for over a week and decided I need fresh flowers, inside, every day. Even if it's only in a tiny creamer :)

Yes, love those poms.

Flowers say welcome and love to me. Unfortunately, I have a cat that eats cut flowers. So I enjoy mine in the garden.

There you go, Manuela! I'm a flower lover, too. And that pom pom fringe is great--such a cheery bit of fun!

Nothing ever goes on sale over here. Not even holiday candies. Carnations last forever so they are a great buy! Love those little tole trays you found for .55 cents. They are just adorable! Have a great rest of the week. :) Tammy

I love fresh flowers, too. I feel like my house is fresher for having them.

In my first kitchen I had yellow gingham curtains with pom pom trim. They are still my favorites!

I would love to have fresh flowers more often, but I limit myself to only when my house is clean from top to bottom. It saves a lot of money that way!!! Sally

Yes, I agree! Fresh flowers are definitely a "simple pleasures priority"! I budget for them, too, because especially during the dark winter months, they add a spot of color to my home! :) And I LOVE that pom-pom fringe! So cute!

I wanted to let you know that I am having a giveaway on my blog, if you'd like to check it out! :)

I hope you are doing well, and have a wonderful weekend!

So true! 5-10 dollars will actually buy a nice bouquet at the grocery store. I need to remember that. And, I also am a pom fan...:)
