Morning Light on a bookcase.

One of the things I love about this house is the wonderful morning light we get in the living room.

My bookcases are stuffed full of all kinds of books.

As always (well when I remember), comments are off on Sunday.

Enjoy your day and I’ll be back tomorrow.

The Morning Glory

Was it worth while to paint so fair
Thy every leaf - to vein with faultless art
Each petal, taking the boon light and air
Of summer so to heart?

To bring thy beauty unto perfect flower,
Then, like a passing fragrance or a smile,
Vanish away, beyond recovery's power -
Was it, frail bloom, worth while?

Thy silence answers: "Life was mine!
And I, who pass without regret or grief,
Have cared the more to make my moment fine,
Because it was so brief.

"In its first radiance I have seen
The sun! - why tarry then till comes the night?
I go my way, content that I have been
Part of the morning light!" - Florence Earle Coates

Crepe Myrtle or Crape Myrtle (depends on who you ask)! “Miami” bloom above.

This white one is a ”Natchez”.

I have a two tone one – half of it is white the other purple.

I thought it was an all white one which I put in my white garden. Surprise!! A few years later I started getting purple blooms! Now it’s mostly purple since the white part hangs over the veggie garden and I keep those branches trimmed.

I have a whole line of them on the other side of our property and they'd all like some water! Please rain!!

I have one perennial Hibiscus. It’s been coming back every summer for about 6 years!

The red Hibiscus is supposed to have medicinal properties.

It also is supposed to make a pretty tasty tea, but I’ve never tried doing that with mine.

I just enjoy the huge flowers!

Thanks for stopping by today!

I hope you're having a lovely weekend!

Red and Yellow flowers.

When I saw these at the grocery store I just had to have them. Couldn’t resist my favorite color combination!

It just makes me happy to see them! So I thought I’d share them with you.

Hope they make you smile too!

Our backyard wildflower meadow.

We threw some wildflower mix seeds in a bare spot last year and this year we’ve got ourselves a little meadow!

It’s not very big but it seems to attract a lot of butterflies and bees!

Every week there seems to be a new little flower popping up!

Thanks for stopping by.

Hope you’re having a great weekend and don’t forget to enter the book giveaway in the post below if you haven’t already!

Walking around the town pond with Maxie.

I think I took these photos in March/April.

That white structure in the back is a porch swing.

Pollen and tree blossoms!

Turtles – sometimes they venture out and cross the road.
