Bloomin Tuesday

Jean http://msgreenthumbjean.blogspot.com/ hosts Bloomin Tuesday and I thought I'd join in with a few things that are in bloom in the garden this week.

This variegated Lantana is so great at the mailbox! It's very drought tolerant. I hardly every hand water it and I never fertilize it. The butterflies just love it!

This is a close-up of Beauty Berry. Beautiful purple berries that the birds love.

Morning Glories along my white picket fence and up the arbor

Not exactly blooming, but growing are Yukon Gold potatoes growing in a half whiskey barrel. I have potatoes in my raised beds but I had a few extra and didn't want to waste them.

Apples on the old apple tree that was here when we bought this house

I hope you enjoyed seeing some of the things that are bloomin around here. For more Blooming Tuesday posts please check out Jean's blog.

I'll be back with some pictures of my screened in porch. I painted the floor, put up the mirror, added that other chair and fluffed a bit. There's still lots to do in there!

Your garden looks great, ours is a bit bedraggled this time of year. Everything needs to be trimmed back and cleaned up.

Lantana is a great addition to the garden, the butterflies just flock to it. I have to get some of that beautyberry for my garden. Lovely purple berries for the birds.

Your garden is nice. The Lantana is especially lovely. I also like the apple tree. I took the time to visit your entire new blog. Your hints are great. Our town has the same water system and I understand about saving water.

What a fun post. Loved all the variety! I've never seen Beauty Berry. What a pretty color and a draw for the birds as well. Wish I had some of that in my garden!

THose are all pretty pics. I'm trying to get some lantana going by mailbox & planted 3 last year that are bright pink mostly with a touch of yellow. Do you remember what name yours is? I need a low grower & one that will come back. I lost 2 of mine over the winter & need to plant more. I know some of them won't come back, darn it! I'd like to use one with some pink & not just the yellow variety.

Very nice, I love gardening, but I seem to lose interest as the summer humidity kicks in...now that fall is just around the corner, I just know everything will start looking like heck really soon with the first frost. I wish I could bottle up my spring enthuiasm for gardening!

Thanks for sharing your pics :)

Nice flowers! I've lost at least 5 lantana this summer--I have no idea why. I do like the color of yours. I have mostly 'New Gold' and 'Imperial Purple', at least of those that are left!
The Beauty Berry is just wonderful! Is it a climber?

Thanks for joining the fun! Love the colors of the lantana. I have never grown morning glories but I have to give them a try next year. The beautyberry is amazing. I have never seen it before. Great Bloomin' Tuesday post! Jean

I think your yard is much bigger than I thought...I think we can safely call it a Mini-Farm :)

...and I'm jealous of your old apple tree...

I was gifted and bought from our little farmer's market some old pears...2 different varieties...I'm hoping to be able to get some pear seedlings started next year...

or else I may just have to hitch somebody's tree up to my truck and drag myself a already grown one home...

:)

Bloomin' Tuesday is such a great idea!
Your flowers still look so beautiful. I love the lantana. Where we swim it surrounds the pool and butterflies of every possible color swarm it. The morning glories are so beautiful on these humid summer mornings.

I love that Lantana; I have never grown it. It is only an annual here and is usually fairly expensive, but maybe I will treat myself next year.
