Glittery, Glistening & Gleaming

Hi everyone! Did you brave the Black Friday crowds or did you stay in like me? I never go out on BF. It's just not worth it to me. But I have several friends who live for this day! My daughter and I enjoyed a day of crafting, art making, movie watching & eating (my Husband unfortunately had to work since he's in retail). Plus, I took down all my fall decorations so I can start Christmas Decorating!! I LOvE decorating for Christmas. I love thinking of new ways of using what I have and it's fun to see what I bought at the end of the season last year (cause you know I don't remember)!

I worked on some more trees. I made another colorful one for my living room. Isn't that red and white polka dot rick rack just the cutest!

I also worked on some trees for my dining room which I decided would only be white, silver or glittery ones. Since last year I did a shiny shimmery Christmas I thought the dining room would be perfect to rework those decorations. Black and silver - white and silver - love those together!

This little silver bottle brush tree below is one I picked up at Target for $4.99! They don't even have them on display at my Target. They're in boxes on the top shelf above the cute cute Christmas Cottages they have this year (they light up and look like vintage glitter houses). Those are definately on my end of season sale list for this year!

I added the silver ornaments, the sparkly topper and the silver bead garland to this white one.

This sparkly silver one is a bleached bottle brush tree that I sprayed with spray adhesive and then dumped a whole lot of Martha Stewart silver glittler on.  I also added some silver ornamaents.

Here they all are together. I'm not keeping them here though. They're going on top of  my little black china cabinet in the dining room.

A few more pictures just because I think they look so pretty!

Be sure to check back Tuesday for the December Book Giveaway! Also Friday, December 4th is the Cloche Party hosted by Marty at A Stroll Thru Life. I'm really not that good with cloches (or wreaths) but I've challenged myself to come up with something creative. Hopefully I will!  Have a great weekend!

Your trees are SO cute! I love them. No, I did not get out in the freezing cold, early in the morning to fight the crazy crowds. Not for me!

Just gorgeous, Manuela! Glistening indeed! My daughters talked me into a bit of BF shopping, but not until after noon--I'm not crazy! I did the early morning thing once--no more!

LOVE your trees--those are my favorites, too, and I DID notice those at Target--they are on my list for today!!! Love those trees you made, too--I'll have to give those a try.

So glad I found your blog--just beautfiful and so inspiring! Hope your weekend is lovely and restful!

Oh, Manuela! You are right! That polka dot rick rack is AWESOME! I am also loving the idea of the white and silver trees on that silver tray and using cream and sugars for the bases. Mmmm ... think I'm going to steal, oops I mean BORROW, that idea! I also like the beaded stuff on the tray -- is that a garland of some sort? Definitely a great touch!
No BF for us, we are in the middle of our "Thanksgiving travels" ... up to Seattle today where the Pink Princess runs in her first 1/2 marathon on Sunday!
Enjoy your weekend and I'm looking forward to seeing your cloches and wreaths!

Your trees are so pretty! I have some here somewhere - need to get them out and decorate them. I don't shop on BF. I did one year many years ago and said never again.

sooooo pretty. I keep eyeing these and wanting to buy some, but I haven't. I might just give in and get some.

Your trees are gorgeous! I love how bottle brush trees look vintage even when they are new!

I never venture out on BF either...I prefer to flop and eat leftovers. :)

I need to think about getting out the decorations, too!

I just love these trees! They are so pretty. And yes, the polka-dot one is adorable.

Hi Manuela!
Your trees are gorgeous!! I love the polka dot rick rack is so sweet! Love it. I'm with you, BF is not my thing either. I tried it a couple of years ago because my friend swore you got the best deals. Well, I didn't and it was just too much pushing and shoving for me :) Can't wait to see the rest of you holiday decor :)
Have a great weekend.

I hope that you had a very nice Thanksgiving. :o) No, I too do not go out on BF.

Hi, Manuela -
Your trees are gorgeous and you have inspired me to get busy and do some things to add beauty to the Christmas decor in my home. I, too, avoid the Black Friday crowds and craziness. My daughter and daughter-in-law shopped and found some good buys but I prefer to stay home and relax and 'putter' a bit. Thanks for sharing your inspiring blogs about the little trees. I think I'll find some and see what I can do with them! ~Adrienne~

I am loving all things silver, white and red this year. I love how you put your bottle brush trees in silver containers! It will be acouple weeks before I can decorate my dining room since we will have to completely empty it out for the plasterer to come this week and fix the ceiling. Then after it dries for a week I will have to paint and I am considering painting a different color since I have to paint anyway! I'll just have to come here for my decorating fix:>) Beautiful job, as always, Manuela!

Oh yeah, where did you get the polka dot ric rac?

Beautiful Manuela! You certainly have an eye for beauty and a talent for making it happen!

You have me wanting my decorating to get started...but I am tired, (lazy)...and need my husband to help me. Maybe we can get to digging things out of the closet in the basement and start the many trips upstairs to let the dcorating begin! (:>)

Have a good weekend!

Oh I love the red and white one with the rickrack, but they are all beautiful, good job. That sounds like a lovely way to spend Black Friday. I spent the day cleaning up and then resting. I do very little shopping and so stay away from Black Friday like the plague. Linda

Maddie (my daughter) and I went to one store and then rushed home to drink hot chocolate and craft!!
I love what you did to the trees. I have so many great things to say about them, that I started writing it down!
You gave us so many super ideas (thank you)
I especially love the red and white rose bud tree and the silver tree with the little balls.
I also agree what a great find at Target!!
Can't wait to share your site with my mom!
Have fun decorating :)

Look at you! Your home is already looking beautiful. I'm going to stay calm and carry on. :)

Manuela,
Your trees are beautiful. The red and white are my favorite. No BF for this girl, been there done that. Both my girls braved the cold and found several great bargains. Looking forward to all the great Holiday parties and decorating that will soon be starting. I have already started to decorate, so playtime for me has started. Thanks for showing your beautiful trees.

You know I'm in love with those little red and white trees, Manuela! And all the others look so pretty. To me handmade is always best. No, I wouldn't think of doing the Friday shopping after Thanksgiving thing. Nope, not me in that madness. I don't even shop really. My kids are grown and I give my daughter money to buy the grandkids what she thinks they should have, as they're in another state. I've challenged myself not to spend a dime on decorating this year. The one thing I've almost caved in on is glitter. I have none! But not gonna do it.

I love, love, love it!!! I too am in love w/the glitter village houses at Target! Wish I could buy them all now!

I love the little trees. Everything is so shiny and pretty Manuela. I don't do BF. It's just not worth it to me to stand in line for some object I don't really need. Hey amiga, have a great Sunday. I love your stuff always.

Mimi Sue said...

Love, love, love your glittery trees. I picked up a bag of bottle brush trees at Home Depot on Friday. So I'll be trying to glitter some up this week. I went to our Target looking for those houses and they didn't have any. Maybe they'll get some in or maybe they were sold out. Very disappointing. I'll keep checking. Mimi

Oh all of your trees are amazing! My absolute favorites are the two red and white ones...I ADORE the one with the rick rack and the one with the roses on it is so SO cute! You are so talented! :)

I didn't shop yesterday...the closest I got to shopping this weekend was running to the store for canned pineapple for the dinner my husband was making! :) I hope you had a wonderful Thanksgiving and are really enjoying your weekend! :)

The trees are soo wonderful. I love how you've made the new ones look so vintage and yummy! I didn't brave the crowds at the malls - we went to our local tree farm and cut down our tree!

Your trees are beautiful. I'm trying to get some decorating done today too. I finally got a day off. If I didn't have to work on Black Friday, I surely wouldn't be out shopping on that day. I did one year and I didn't like it at all. I worked almost 13 hours this year on Black Friday and all my customers were nice ones this year. Its not like that always. Have fun decorating!

Oh, it is looking beautiful at your house! I love those trees and the way you sparkled them up. Too cute, glad you are getting in the spirit of things. I'm busy decorating too & trying to get it finished & cleaned up. My fave part, enjoying it all!

Nope, I don't do Black Friday either, too chaotic! But I did make it to Ballards Outlet when I was over there this weekend. I did find a pretty treasure.

It's this time of the year I usually get to envy you folks in the States so much, here we don't have such shops as yours and the little ones (usually in big cities)selling season decorations are so much expensive!!!

Your black Friday plans like I need to make....a day of crafting beats getting up at 3:30 to shop with insane girlfriends! This was my first and hopefully last BF experiendce!

I love your bottle brush trees. All the sparkle and glitter are so enchanting and magical...just the way Christmas should be!

I actually braved BF. Starting at 2:00 a.m. It's only my third time. But never that early! Luckily I got most of what I needed (tag teaming with my sisters-in-law). But, I think next year I'm sleeping in!!

Your decorations look so festive! I'm not quite in the Christmas decorating mode yet. Trying to enjoy every bit that's left of fall! Have a good day!
