Save More At The Grocery Store

I've been trying to find ways to save some money since I'm on a mission to re-do my hall bath and the first place I always look to cut expenses is my grocery bill. I guess that's the one most of us tackle first! I do the usual cutting coupons, shopping for my pantry, and menu planning but there are always more ways to cut costs.

Did you know that if you have say a Target coupon you can use a manufacturer's coupon on top of that? Two different coupons for one item! Now, I've always known that I just never made the effort to do it.

Did you know that there are sites on the web that tell you how to combine your coupons with sales to get the most for your shopping dollar? I knew this too but never really used them.

Did you know that there are sites where you can print out coupons and sites where you can load coupons onto your shopper card? Yep, knew this too but hardly ever did it!

Well I've finally started doing these things and I got some really good deals this week. I thought I'd share some of the links that I've been using with you. Now I do have to say that it takes a bit of time to look through the deals and print the coupons. But if you need to trim your grocery budget some more it would be worthwhile to have a look. If there are things that you would by anyway why not pay less!

Or if an item is free after coupons, why not get it and give it to someone you know can use it or wait till you have a bunch and give someone a nice care package. Donating to food pantries is always an option if you find something for free and it's not something your family eats or uses.

A good place to start is
Money Saving Mom. She always posts lots of different freebies and deals. You really have to check her several times a day. These two are from her:

For a free down load of Larry Burkett's Money Matters at Logos.com

Load coupons onto your shopper card Cellfire

Frugal Living and Having Fun lists weekly coupon matchups at Target, Walgreens, CVS, Shaws, WalMart and Rite Aid! She also gives you the links to the printable coupons you can use in these deals.

Save at Home Mommy even has Restaurant coupon links!

Check out i Mommies. They also list weekly deals at Target and other places.

This is my new favorite place Organic Grocery Deals.com. You do have to register in order to be able to print coupons etc. but I haven't received any SPAM or unwanted emails from them yet.

I saved $8 off my Target bill this week and I even got an item for free! I paid 99 cents for a bottle of A1 Steak sauce which we love and were out of and several other things and I wouldn't have used some of the coupons I used if I hadn't checked out those web sites and been alerted to the deals.

I hope this helps some of you that need to stretch your dollars even further.

I love using the Target coupons. Sometimes they aren't very happy about the extra effort it takes for them but I walked away with a saving of over $15 this morning. Two of the sites you had were new to me. Thanks so much for them.

Glad for the information. It is always good to find sites that will help save money. I'll have to send your post to one of my sister-in-laws too, she is very into couponing.

Somehow I missed your post about knobs. Love the variety you have.

If you have an Aldi nearby I would suggest checking it out. I was pleasantly surprised at what I could get there. I posted about it on my blog.

It does take a bit of time to find the deals, but I find that it's totally worth the money I save. And we eat very well!

My favorite website/blog for store deals is Southern Savers(southernsavers.com). She gives the weekly ads with coupon match-ups for many of the stores here in the South. I have saved so much more at my local grocery stores since finding her site!

I think that is great info. I am still doing my once monthly shopping and trying to be frugal, as that is my word for the year. I pretty much have it down pat now. I buy what I need once a month. In between if milk or bread is needed I pick that up. We have chickens now and are getting 2 eggs a day. So that is cool. Thx Manuela, take care.

As always, Manuela, great ideas! I had no idea that you could combine store/manufacturers coupons! I'll have to remember that!

We have cut our grocery bills by cutting the junk food and processed food consumption. Instead of bags of chips and Little Debbies (among other things) we have gone to fruit and homemade treats. Between that and buying mostly fresh produce or using what we canned I have dropped our grocery bill nearly 200.00 a month! I know that sounds like a lot, but our grocery bill was running about $800a month before I started this in January.

Have a great weekend!

Manuela, I've been talking about doing this for a long time. Finally got started. We don't have many grocery stores here, mostly Wal Mart and Target. We do have one store that just opened right by my house and they double coupons. This week I matched my coupons to the ad and saved 37%. Woo hoo! It's a worthwhile game to play, I think. :)

Thanks Manuela. I am always looking for ways to save. Something I would also recommend is to keep a copy of the store's coupon policy on hand when grocery shopping. Some stores may say that they do not accept INTERNET coupons but if you have the store's policy in hand they will allow them.

I look forward to checking out some of the sites you listed. I already have some in my favorites :)

Have a great weekend!

I too post deals each week for Target, Walgreens, Rite Aid, Albertsons, Vons/Safeway, Food Lion and Kroger and I am growing all the time! Happy couponing!

Great info. Back in the early 80s I use to do refunding for money. Save labels and mail them to the manufacturer and they would then send you a coupon for a free item or send you a check. It was time consuming but it paid off. I use to buy all my weekly groceries for less then $10 and that included diapers too. I clip coupons all the time as I look as those coupons as green money. I also make a list and stick to it. I shop the perimeter of the food market for healthier foods too and that often saves $$$.

I love your blog! It is lovely, and your home is absolutely beautiful!

I love toile fabric, also. I have a pink toile pattern in my living room. I found a furniture set, including curtains, at an antique shop. I believe the fabric was from cottage hill(?). You can view it on the slide show that's on my blog, if you like.

I have some vintage knobs I happened upon at a thrift store, and there are just enough of them to use in my kitchen!

I so enjoyed perusing your place!

Many blessings to you,

Andrea
