Thriftstore Finds

I have a few thriftstore treasures to share this week. Be sure to go to Rhoda's blog (Southern Hospitality) for her yardsale/thriftstore linky party!

I saw these six plates at Goodwill and I thought they might match a pattern I have in a couple of tea cups.

What do you think? I think they go together quite well! They're not even made by the same company.

The coloration is almost identical and the patterns go together so nicely. That was a very happy find! I'm always happy when I find dishes! You can click to enlarge the picture to see the pattern better.

I was also happy to find this Victoria Ware pitcher! I collect blue transferware so this will fit in nicely with that collection.

The markings on dishes can be very deceiving! You would think this was English transferware, but it's really a Chinese knockoff, but still a pretty piece and a good price!

I've mentioned before that I'm covering one of the walls in my foyer with thriftstore mirrors and I found another one for $4. This one had a cheap silver frame but I like the cheaper mirrors because they're usually lighter and I don't have to worry too much about how I hang them.

So I spray painted this one a glossy black and hung it with the others.

The hard part about doing it this way instead of just going out and buying a bunch of mirrors all at once, is the obvious gaps that happen! But it's much more fun to find each one separately!

I forgot to show these ceramic flower thingies the last time. I guess they're tiebacks? Anyway, I don't need any tiebacks like this at the moment but I thought they would be pretty displayed in something.

So I put them in a creamer in my black cabinet.

I think they look pretty there!

That's it for me. I didn't find alot, but I really love all the things I did find! Thanks so much for stopping by and have a great week everyone!

Hi Manuela
I think you did pretty well. Those dishes really look good with the others and even though it's Chinese I love the blue and white vase. I'm having a welcome fall party and would love it if you'd join in. It's on Tuesday the first day of fall. You can read about it on my blog

Oooh, great stuff! I love the mirror wall. I was thinking of doing this in our basement where we have a long empty wall so that we could get more reflective light.

You got some great stuff there, Manuela! I love the dishes! I think they go with what you have without being matchy-matchy; that worked out great.

I know it's not your new mirror, but I love the way the oval one picks up your pumpkin topiary.

Oh please don't tell me you got that Victoria Ware pitcher at the GW close to me. You always find great stuff.
Don't know if you knew but a new GW is opening up in Hiram. One day I need to go out there and find it.

Have a great day even in the wonderful rain, will it ever stop?

What a great find those dishes were! After I admired the cup and saucer I did an online search for the pattern and couldn't even come up with anything! The dishes look great with the cup & saucer. The blue and white picher is beautiful, how can you tell it's a knockoff? Enlighten us!
