Today's Thrifty Treasures

It's time to show your thriftstore/yardsale treasures. Be sure to visit Rhoda at Southern Hospitality for more Today's Thrifty Treasures participants. It's always so much fun to see what everyone finds!

I had a very eclectic week at Goodwill! I found him....

And added him to them!

I found these monogrammed spoons and forks. None of us have names that start with a "B" but I collect monogrammed silverware and I was just so excited to see some at Goodwill that I bought them for $2.72!

My happiest find all month has been these two items which I found yesterday!

A footed silverplate coffee/tea pot and creamer by Rogers & Bros. Last year I received coffee pot as a Mother's Day Gift and later I bought one myself and sugar bowl. I thought I might start a collection of silverplate coffee pots if I could find ones that I really liked the shape of.

They cleaned up so beautifully!

This one was my Mother's Day present.

This one I bought for myself!

I think they all look pretty together but I don't think I have enough room on that tray to get one more! I think I need a bigger tray! (something else to look for at Goodwill)!

I made two of these pictures a while ago for my dining room and now I want to change things a bit in that room for summer. So I was looking for two identical frames with mats that I could use.

Found them! AND they were 50% off - which is only the second time in my life that I've actually purchased something at Goodwill that was on sale!

I knew I wanted to either use black toile fabric or wallpaper in the the frames and luckily I had a roll of wallpaper that had several nice scenes on it. I chose ones with dogs since we're big dog lovers!

I'm really happy with the way they turned out! They each cost me under $2 and I think they look like wonderful AND I'll have frames to use when I want to change them to something else. There are several online discounters if you don't have a wallpaper store in your town. You can also get wallpaper at great prices on ebay. Of course, you can use whatever you want, but I'm partial to toile!

I have a pretty an easy plate project that I'll be showing this week that will replace the rooster plates in my dining room.

That's it for me! I had a good week at Goodwill!

Thanks so much for stopping by and have a great week everyone!

Great finds ... I love the silverplated teapot! And, what a great idea using toile wallpaper in the frames. I have the same toile print, Laura Ashley House Party, in the fabric I used in my breakfast nook.

Oh, those are great finds! Love all your silver tea service pieces, they look wonderful all grouped together. And I love what you did with the toile wallpaper too.

Didn't know there were 2 Queen of Hearts. The one we went to is on Canton Hwy., so I guess from your's & Kat's comment, there is also one in Alpharetta. The Marietta one would be closer for you. It's just past the intersection of Piedmont Rd. on the left going north on Canton Hwy.

Wow, I love the silver teapots, and creamer! I have one! All my silver, I loaned out, and never got it back! I had a lot of new and old silver pieces! Love the toile photos! When you take the plate down send it to me! lol You try the ginger in ground, I will try it in the pot for now! I scared to put it in the ground! I going to see in I have anymore eyes on the Ginger root I bought. Got to get some soil and plant more! Mine is near a foot, but the caterpillar keep eating the leaves off, and its on the porch in the pot! I want it to grow so much, I also rooted a pineapple. Its doing good too. I have pussy willow in a glass hoping it will root! I have monogrammed flatware with our initial, did not use it for years. Found it packed away and keep it for family gatherings now. I am so excited I bought new flatware in a pattern that I had a few of that are antique. I found the reproduction of it! Bring it out to show soon.

Dear Manuela -
I'm trying desperately hard to catch up with my bloggy friends. Being away twice in two weeks was nice but it's so hard to catch up with you again! But I made it this far.

Your finds and treasures are wonderful. I love your collection of gnomes. I never see them when I'm out and about. And your monogrammed silver is nice. But I love the silver coffee service. My favorite of your coffee servers is your Mother's Day gift. I like the unusual 'scallops' and design. And then when I thought I'd seen it all - you added your wonderful toile prints. What a great idea. And so perfect! You are a very clever and talented lady, my friend. I'm always anxious to see what you have to share. I'll be back soon. Promise.
