My 2 Favorite Furniture Makeovers

Hello everyone! I'm deep in the throes of an upholstery project and I'm still organizing my garage so I thought we'd revisit two makeovers that I did a few years ago. Some of you may remember these!

You've seen this chair many times!

This is what it looked like before. I did this last year.

A bit of paint and some new fabric and you have a whole new chair!

This is the before of my dining room table. We were building our screened in porch when I took this picture and the wall where the buffet is has now been replaced by french doors. I really wanted a round white table but just couldn't afford one at the time. So I decided to paint my table.

Many, many coats of paint later.... and the new french doors (and unfinished walls). I did this in 2007!

I really love it white! It was a job painting it but so worth it! I just think everything looks better on it now that it's white.

You've all seen this table a million times and you'll probably see it a million more because I love to change the table linens and centerpiece at least once a week! It's a quick and inexpensive way to change the look of my dining room!

Think of me when you're having fun this weekend! I'll still be cleaning up the garage! It has to be finished by Monday (I'll let you know why next week). Have a fabulous weekend everyone!

I'd recognize that Sock-it-to-Me cake anywhere! I've long wanted to paint the dining room table white; unfortunately, it doesn't belong to me.

Those were great makeovers! I so am thinking of going over to the "white side". So bright and cheery. Of course, I will always keep my red, too!

Your table looks great! It was the go to project when I did my coffee table. I have a dining room table and I love legs on it, sort of like yours, a little bit chunkier but I don't like the white inlaid tile..would like to change that with a plank country top? Do you know how I should do that? now you have me wondering the garage? Hmmm?

I love, love, love that chair. It would so match my dining room perfectly. The dining room table looks great white - I painted my dining room set white a couple of years ago too. I can sympathize with you - what a tediuous process. But, I agree it looks so much better white. :)

I did not *know* you then. Good job on the table and chair.

Basement garage and photography was was in the plan for me to day. Then I got a call to sub this morning. But it was only 1 hour 15 minute class. So I did get the photography work done. Now off to the *dungeon*...

I am going to be painting my kitchen table soon. How many coates of paint do you have on that table?

I love the tease you are giving us - can't wait to see what is going on in the garage. It must be a huge project if it is anything like our garage. I haven't gotten into the white furniture; but, yours looks wonderful - just right in your home. Have a great weekend. Sally

I am thinking about painting my dining table and chairs as well. It is my kitchen set, not the "formal" one (which isn't formal, just OLD). The table is round with a leaf. I have chairs that are those pressed-back kind. I'm thinking of buying a sprayer and using oil-based paint instead of latex. Any thoughts?

Both of those look beautiful. Good job.

It really is amazing what a couple of coats of paint can do. I get a little to happy with the paint over at my house. I get on these kicks where I think everything needs to be repainted!!!

Those are two wonderful makeovers. I cannot wait to hear about the the garage.

I LOVE your table! I have one of those fancy Queen Anne designed tables with matching china cabinet. We put the cabinet away and left the table and chairs. I wonder if I could paint that? I don't think it's real wood? Oh..are you getting a new car??

Manuela, I always love your makeover projects! Your home is so cozy and personal. With all of the little touches you add, it must be a joy to enjoy as you look around each day! White is a wonderful color for a table. I like to change my tabletops around a bit as well.

I do believe you've dropped a hint to me about your secret that you are going to reveal. I am anxious to hear the details.

You had asked about substituting wine in my peach recipe from Monday. I often use white grape jusice as a sub. You can probably even omit it as well. It's not a dominant flavor. Let me know if you try it!

Have a great weekend,
Jennifer
