Black & Silver Cabinet

I added a few shiny touches to my little black china cabinet. Usually it just has white china in it but I really like the silver so I may just add a bit more after the holidays are over!

A big faux mercury glass ornament in a great little urn I found at Goodwill!

A vintage coffee pot my husband gave me for Christmas last year with some greenery in it and a few mercury glass candlesticks I didn't have space for on my fireplace mantel.

I'll show the rest of the dining room next week when I participate in some Virtual Holiday Home Tours. I think it's my favorite room!

It's been so much fun to see what everyone has done with their Christmas decorating! I have lots of ideas for what I want to do next year! Jennifer has a great idea for organizing Christmas, check out her cute Christmas Planner at her blog Fiddle Dee Dee !

As always, thanks so much for stopping by!

Dear Manuela,

Your black cabinet looks so pretty. I love all of the silver, just beautiful! You have a great eye for vignettes! The tray is so pretty and I love the Christmas trees, the candlesticks and the gorgeous vintage coffee pot your sweet husband gave you. The big silver leaf is lovely and goes perfectly hanging on the knob. I can see why that is your favorite room. I look forward to seeing more.

Love, Paula

I love silver too, only used when girls got married. I also collect aluminum platters and bowl. It was great for outdoor wedding. Love your mercy glass ornament. Your mix looks great! Had tornado here last night and expecting 5-6 inches of snow tomorrow! Is that not wild.

I am glad you put pictures of your mercury glass so I now know what it looks like.
In the summer I painted 3 candlesticks that someone said were mercury glass.
After seeing yours, I know mine were not real mercury glass but some Dollar Tree type imitation.

your black and silver grouping is very pretty and I am looking forward to seeing the tour of your entire decorations.

I love that little picture in the glittery frame. I have lots of antique Christmas postcards that would look great framed. Do you suppose I could glitter up some frames or maybe just a mat? My mind is churning!! Thanks for the inspiration. Sally

Oh so pretty! Don't you just love mercury glass? My husband thinks I'm a bit kookie for my attraction to it, but what can I say - he's a silly man. LOL.
That coffee pot is just awesome too!

Hi, I saw a comment you left on another blog and clicked over because I loved the picture of your dog! (We just lost our Golden a few months ago.) I'm so glad I did, your blog is wonderful. :) I really love your bottle brush tree... so cute! You are a wonderful decorator!

Good morning Manuela :)

I love what you've done in there and I can't wait to see the rest!

Your version of the china tree is darling :)

Oh and we've never had the perfect tree either! For some reason it looks great at the lot, but when we get it home, it's always a leaner LOL I am the queen of using books underneath to make it straight ;)

Have a fantastic day!!

rue

Your dining room is so festive. Love all the shiny. Thanks for all the great money saving tips. I know most people waste enough money for me to live on! We try to live frugally since the mister is retired. We don't really miss anything that we've given up. Mimi

Oh, I just love it! I've got a silver spot to post too, we have some similar things going. I'm really loving the mercury glass too & it pairs so well with old silver pieces. Pretty, pretty! Yes, I do hope you'll come play at my party on Monday too.

Happy Friday, Manuela! (I'm a little behind this week!) I love your black cabinet with all of the silver accessories. It looks so festive and sparkley. I am all about the glitter and twinkle this time of year. You have such a wonderful way of mixing the holidays with your every day decor.
Thanks for sharing my organization post. Maybe I am too OCD for some, but life sure does seem easier to handle when I have it all together!
I hope that your week has gone well for you.
Hugs,
Jennifer
