Merry Christmas Everyone!

I'd like to thank my dear bloggy friend Jennifer ( Fiddle Dee Dee) for the Christmas Spirit Award and I'm suppose to share 5 Things That I Love About Christmas:

  1. I love decorating our Christmas tree together with the Christmas music playing and our traditional eggnog drink. Unfortunately my 16 year old is too big to sit on her Dad's shoulder to put the topper on top. All she has to do is stand on her tip toes now...sigh.
  2. I love that my daughter is off from school for two whole weeks and I get to spend everyday with her. She'll be a senior next year so each moment together becomes more and more precious.
  3. I love driving around and seeing everyone's Christmas lights.
  4. I love us all watching Christmas movies together.
  5. I love all the baking and eating even though I know come January I'm going to be really really sorry I baked and ate all those goodies!

I'd also like to thank sweet Melissa (Little Things In Life) for the Butterfly Award and the oh so talented Tracey (Frugal Luxuries By The Seasons) for the Lemonade Award. I have the awards listed on my sidebar if y'all would like to see them. I really am honored that you dear ladies thought of me, thank you so much!

The other day I got a special gift in the mail from dear Linda, Bluegate Blog! Look at what she sent me - just because she knows I heart red transferware and she didn't want to break them up. I'm sure you all know what a very talented mosaic artist she is, if not, do check out her blog! Aren't they gorgeous! I just love them. They're going right into my china cupboard. Thank you so much Linda - you are the sweetest!

I wish each of you a very Merry Christmas! I will be taking some time to enjoy my family and will be back after Christmas when the two things I'll be working on will be re-working our budget for next year and organizing my craft area!

Dear Manuela,

I enjoyed seeing all the pretty ornaments on your tree. The doggie tree topper is so sweet. I also enjoyed reading what you love about Christmas. The red transferware dishes are beautiful and go perfectly in your lovely home. I hope you and your family have a blessed Christmas! Thank you for all your share!

Congrats on the awards and the beautiful plates!

LOL! I was so enraptured by your china garden months ago, I started a china collection. As I see a plate here and there in a thrift or antique shop or homegoods, marshalls or TJ's, 1-2 dollars or less, I pick it up. Cracked or chip, I feel even better. LOL! These plates are ending up on my kitchen walls. I will get them cleaned up and think, "I can't put this in the yard!..."

I am glad that Linda did not break the china and sent them to a very good home instead!

Merry Christmas!

Love those dishes! So sweet she did not break them up! Love all your Christmas deco you have done, Thanks for bringing your Christmas into my home. I got to go to Cracker Barrell and had a blast! I am trying to get all together and will do one more post on my Peppermint dishes and Gingerbread things, before Christmas, I been wanting an antique buffett, but will make do with a side board I made a few years ago, from the boards off our wall. Terry promises to have 3 sheet of sheet rock up by tomorrow, it may not get painted but it will be a better back ground than insulation! lol I am off to pull out the side board from another room and get to painting! Merry Christmas to you and yours! Enjoy the time with your daughter!

A very blessed Christmas to you dear Manuela. Thank YOU for all the lovely work you do and for taking the trouble to document and share it with us. You don't know how it encourages and inspires us to keep on. So often these days, I find myself wishing, again and again, that I had discovered this amazing blogging community sooner. You all are a wonderful blessing. I didn't invest much time on-line prior to this year. The reason? I believed it would take too much time away from helping to take care of my mom (who passed away in late '06) and my two oldest children who were teenagers at the time. In hindsight, I realize how valuable being part of a community of like-minded souls can be--it uplifts the human spirit (at least it does mine :). Thank you again for your many kindnesses.
Much love, good thoughts, and friendship from...Traceyxo.

Those are beautiful plates!

I was so excited last year to have a Christmas tree taller than me - it's a 6 foot tree. One day I'll blink and my sweet little boys will be as tall as the tree! Merry Christmas!
